Bright Eyes are an easy bunch to dislike, for all sorts of reasons. Perhaps it's because Conor Oberst is so holier than thou all the time, or because Conor Oberst is so nauseatingly sincere, or because Conor Oberst is a pretty boy who looks like he hasn't done a day's work in his life.
We're pretty sure that the reason we didn't like Bright Eyes was something to do with Conor Oberst. Whatever, Bright Eyes has a new album out soon called Cassadaga which normally we'd have walked to the end of the earth to avoid. But he's a sneaky bugger is that Conor Oberst, and he's popped a free mp3 of a new Cassadaga song - Endless Entertainment - on the internet so that we can judge the song on its musical merits, the big sod.
And thanks to this trick, we found ourselves listening to - and liking - Endless Entertainment by Bright Eyes. Less weepy than the Bright Eyes we've heard in the past, Endless Entertainment breezes along and a strum and vapour trail horns.
