Looks like Jodie Foster is going to have to travel everywhere by boat from now on.
80,000 of the world’s flight attendants are out for Foster blood because her new movie Flightplan doesn’t show their profession in a flattering light. And that just won’t do.
In Flightplan, Jodie Foster (DVDs) loses her possibly imaginary daughter on
a plane that she designed. But that’s not why the flight attendants are
upset – after all, dealing with mental aircraft designers looking for
children that might not exist is an everyday predicament for the trolley
dollies.
The reason that the flight attendants have got their knickers in a
twist is because it turns out that the bad guy in Flightplan is… one of
them! And in the fragile mind of the average movie-goer, the reputation
of flight attendants everywhere has been destroyed forever. After watching Flightplan, they’ll never trust another flight attendant again. Imagine that – when asked if they’d like beef or chicken for dinner, air passengers will all shout "I want none, you untrustworthy bitch! Give Jodie Foster’s imaginary daughter back, you perma-grinning slut!"
So The Association of Flight Attendants, The
Professional Flight
Attendants Association and the Transport Workers Union have all stood
up and denounced the movie. Patricia Friend – the international
president of the AFA – made the statement:
"We will tell Hollywood that this disrespect to our profession is not going to fly." Ha. Fly. Clever girl.
Apparently,
Flightplan undermines the bond of trust between passengers and flight
attendant, which is essential in these times of increased security, and
it doesn’t properly credit the role that flight attendants have as
"first responders" in an emergency.
And we thought they were all just jumped-up waitresses.

Bah, pathetic!
Reminds me of the time when all the workers in Boots’ Photo department striked after ‘One Hour Photo’ was released.
Oh wait, that never happened..
