Eurovision Odds – Netherlands and Norway
The Eurovision Song Contest will be here in six days, and hecklerspray and Betfair.com are continuing to profile every country for your betting enjoyment.
The Eurovision Song Contest has made the fortunes of many people, including Abba, Serge Gainsbourg, Celine Dion, Lulu and the Belgian entrant in the 1976 contest – Pierre Rapsat.
Today we’ll be focusing on the Netherlands and Norway…
Netherlands (pop. 16,318,199; the European part of the Kingdom Of The Netherlands)
The Eurovision entrant for The Netherlands this year is Glennis Grace, a woman with a voice that could demolish concrete bunkers. She’s singing My Impossible Dream, a song that couldn’t be bigger if a herd of unicorns ran across the stage during the middle eight. "I’ve come in from the cold, and I’ll follow my dream", she sings. Probably beating her chest with her fist all the way through it. Current odds – 89/1
Norway (pop. 4,593,031; a Nordic country on the western portion of the Scandinavian peninsula)
Norway have put forward the most preposterous group of musicians for Eurovision this year. They go by the name of Wig Wam, and they look like The Darkness, but multiplied by a million. Their names are Teeny, Glam, Sporty and Flash, and their song is called In My Dreams. "Come on, come on, love is all over me". It’s the traditional glam-metal Norwegian wet dream song! Current odds – 15/2
There we have it. Two songs that couldn’t be more removed from one another, but both stand a good chance of winning. To see the full list changing in real-time, head over to the ‘Special bets’ section of Betfair.com, and have a cheeky flutter. We’ll be back tomorrow with two countries that start with ‘P’.

I can’t believe it, my co-worker just bought a car for $41843. Isn’t that crazy!
