It’s day six of the Eurovision Song Contest country rundown, brought to you by hecklerspray and Betfair.com.

Germany This year, there’s going to be a semi-final held two days before the main event, because Europe’s got so big that there’s not enough time for each country to sing on the big night. We’re blaming the asylum seekers, or whoever else the Daily Mail’s telling us to hate these days.

Our alphabetical profiling has got us all the way to the letter ‘G’, so that means today we’re shining our big magnifying glass over Germany and Greece.

Germany (pop. 84,468,000; one of the world’s leading industrialised countries, situated in the heart of Europe)
Singing for Germany will be Gracia, a Pop Idol finalist who is no stranger to controversy. She has a gay ex-boyfriend, her top keeps popping open all the time, and she was considering leaving the competition after her manager admitted to buying 2,000 copies of her single to make it a success. Her song is called Run & Hide, and seems to be a tirade at an old boyfriend she lent $25 to, before he legged it. Current odds - 299/1

Greece (pop. 10,665,898; a country on the southeast tip of Europe, on the southern tip of the Balkan peninsula)
The representitive of Greece for the contest is Helena Paparizou, a lovely-looking former Eurovision loser, back for revenge. Her song is entitled My Number One, and despite it’s toe-curling bad lyricism (the "fire/desire" rhyme making the competition’s second appearence) is somehow outright favourite to win the competition. Current odds - 3/1

So Greece is way out in front, but that can all change in the run up. And even if Helena pukes down her top and does a poo up Terry Wogan’s nose on the night, it doesn’t matter. Betfair.com changes in real time, so you’d still have chance to put another bet on to save your monkey ass.
