Eurovision Betting Odds: Rodolfo Chikilicuatre, Spain
Then buzz it up

What’s that, there in the distance? Why, it’s some Eurovision betting odds. Ah, here they are now.
But before we get to the good stuff, we’ve got the daily Eurovision rehearsal rundowns to get through. What have they taught us this time? That the Portuguese woman sometimes doesn’t wear shoes, that the Maltese woman has a black and silver theme and that… no, we’ve already told you too much.
Here are the Eurovision betting odds for Spain, with help from Paddy Power…
Spain (pop. 43,197,684; a country located in southwest Europe) Rodolfo Chikilicuatre, Baila El Chiki-Chiki
We don’t wish to appear rude, but Spain is probably a few years behind the rest of the world. That’s because the rest of the world learnt long ago that you should never let people on the internet choose anything for you. Spain’s learnt that lesson now, but it learnt it the hard way - by letting MySpace users pick Rodolfo Chikilocuatre to represent it at Eurovision. Imagine the bad pisstakey music that used to close episodes of Eurotrash. That’s basically Baila El Chiki-Chiki in a nutshell, except that this is far scarier because it’s real. A Reggaeton song performed by a skinny git in an Elvis wig and a tiny guitar, not even ironic appreciation can save Baila El Chiki-Chiki. It’s the name of a dance apparently, and Hugo Chavez dances it. So do dead people. And blah blah blah blah. If we ignore him, maybe Rodolfo Chikilicuatre will get bored and go away. Current Eurovision betting odds - 33/1
Tomorrow: Sweden! But if that’s too long to wait - or you feel like making more money than you know what to do with - head right over to the Paddy Power Eurovision betting odds page to see the latest, and best, betting odds.

Hey, you may mock, but I’m putting this years heating budget on Rodolfo Chikilicuatre.
And I’ll rub your pasty English noses in it when I & Rudoflo bring home the bacon!

Man, I’m from Spain and you don’t have a clue idea.
We’re tired of Spanish TV sending sucking singers believing they’re going to get something and all they get is a 20/25 position. So this year, which people can choose, we decided to make fun of them and, at the same way, of a Contest that is all but fair.
Russia will get 12 points from Estonia, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania and so on. Serbia will get 12 points from Bosnia (despite the war, can you believe it?), Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia and so on. Spain will get 12 points from Andorra and Portugal… It’s about how many friends you have. The contest is very much close to be a lie, so let’s have fun with it.

Come on… you are missing the point Rodolfo is NOT REAL. It’s a parody, a joke. A joke on people that think is real and take it seriously. It is absolutely perfect for something as tacky and pathetic as Eurovision.

Stuart Heritage from LA preaching (and what’s worse, insulting) like an old-time Hollywood white gringo. (Green go!) Just treat yourself to The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagony (read Mahagony = LA) and we’ll talk about what country is a few years behind the rest of the world. Bigotry “pure et dure”. Think what you want, but keep your insults to yourself.

I’m also living in Spain and Sam has right. The thing is that it doesn’t matter what song you send, it only counts which country has the highes number of emigrants or neightbours, because you can choose any country but yours.
The hights points goes from Sweden to Norway, Finnland, Iceland & Denmark and vice verse. All the former russian countries vote each other and the yuguslavian too.
And that is the point.
Now, in Spain, after see that the last years people where more and more tired of Eurovision, they said: LET’S SAVE EUROVISION, or if not, AT LEAST WE SHOULD SEND THEM THE ARTIST THEY EARN.
Nobody in Spain thinks that Chiki Chiki is a good song. But for this purpose it’s perfect. To show the song contest makers what Spain is thinking bout them.
But the thing is also that with bad taste you have a good option to win because, after voting for their neightbour countries, normally people choose the worstest songs, hoping that nobody else votes them and they won’t benefit the strong songs of the competition.

I don’t doubt that Chikilicuatre is a sham and that Myspace should have nothing to do with how voting is done for the Eurovision contest. But saying, as Stuart Heritage does, that “Spain is a few years behind the rest of the world” is an outright racist bigoted hateful insult and should not be tolerated by any decent minded person.

Well, well, well,
I may have lost this years heating money BUT..
Without even knowing what position Rodolfo Chikilicuatre, Spain came in at I can confidently say he didn’t do any worse than the British entry…
Oh dear, last position, in case you misread that, LAST.
so as we say in Tasmania, suck on that Heritage!
