Eurovision Betting Odds: Number One For Dervish?
Then buzz it up

So what if the Eurovision Song Contest is still over a month away - we're still going to steamroller into our annual Eurovision betting odds like a bull in a chinashop. An affectionate bull in a chinashop staffed by Terry Wogan. We don't know where we're going with this one.
If you've been reading over the last couple of days, you'll have the basic gist of these betting odds - you make money while we repeatedly tell you that Scooch are useless - but today we're going to try something a little different. Well, not that different in fairness - we're going to tell you that another Eurovision entry is useless. Cool, huh?
Here are today's Eurovision betting odds - for Dervish to get a UK number one - with help as ever from Paddy Power…
Dervish to have a UK No.1 single with They Can't Stop The Spring in 2007 - We get these Eurovision betting odds from Paddy Power, you know, and Paddy Power is Irish. That means that a few of these Eurovision betting odds are going to be slightly Ireland-centric. So first let's get you up to speed. In the 1990s Ireland won the Eurovision Song Contest about 16 times, but lately the country seems to have disappeared down a terrifying road of fiddle-de-dee traditional leprechaun music that's about as popular as winter vomiting sickness. So who have Ireland put forward for Eurovision in 2007? Dervish, with a song called They Can't Stop The Spring - three and a half minutes of fiddle-de-dee traditional leprechaun music that couldn't be sappier if the band all wore dresses made of dew. They Can't Stop The Spring sounds like incidental music from an alternative version of Lord Of The Rings where Frodo sits around all day plaiting girls' hair and writing poetry about puppydogs. It's awful, and we're praying that it won't get to number one in the UK singles charts. If it even gets in the top 40 we're going to barf our spine out and use it to whip the idiots that bought it, and that's a fact. Current Eurovision betting odds - 25/1
Tomorrow - Scooch booted for cheating? But if that's too long to wait - or you feel like making more money than you know what to do with - head right over to the Paddy Power Eurovision betting odds page to see the latest, and best, betting odds.
