Today is a day tinged with both sadness and joy. It's a sad day because it's the last time we'll be looking at these special Eurovision betting odds - but we're also deeply excited because, well, because it's the last time we'll be looking at these special Eurovision betting odds.
Over the last couple of weeks we've discovered that Scooch are so useless that the dreaded Nil Points seems like a real possibility. We've discovered that Terry Wogan might be getting the sack this year. But - most importantly of all - we've discovered that one of Dervish might drop their instrument. So how are we going to finish up this fortnight of special Eurovision betting odds? Don't get your hopes up too much, will you.
Here are the Eurovision betting odds for Dervish's entry to become an Irish Number One, with help from Paddy Power…
Dervish to have an Irish No.1 single with They Can't Stop The Spring in 2007 - In case we haven't hammered it into you enough over the last couple of weeks, Irish Eurovision entry They Can't Stop The Spring by Dervish is an insanely awful song - like a cartoon alien's idea of what an Irish song sounds like. And we've also made it clear that They Can't Stop The Spring by Dervish has little to no hope of breaking into the UK charts. But what about the Irish charts? Can Dervish get to number one there? Guess what - it kind of looks like they can. Christ knows how, though: we'd imagine that even the Lucky Charms leprechaun would baulk at Dervish's song for being a bit too stereotypically Irish. On the other hand, though, the Irish music chart is so strapped for decent songs that the only song to have reached the number one spot this century is a recording of Old Blarney O'Shae quietly humming to himself as he concentrates on putting up some shelves so, in that respect, perhaps Dervish have a chance. Current Eurovision betting odds - 11/4
