Eurovision is coming and we just can't wait - and that's the reason why we're letting you bet on some preliminary Eurovision markets right now, just so you can be as annoyingly excited as we are about Eurovision. Hooray for Eurovision!
Sure, there's still over a month to go until the Eurovision Song Contest takes place, but that hasn't stopped us from constructing our own advent-style calender to count down to Eurovision. Well, it's not so much a calender as us just biting off a mouthful of flesh from our own arms and legs with each day that passes until Eurovision is finally here. And to think, only another 38 delicious arm-chunks to go and we'll be the most excited quivering scabs on the planet!
Here's today's Eurovision betting odds - for the winner of Eurovision to receive maximum points - with help from Paddy Power…
The winner of Eurovision to receive maximum points - Yesterday you'll remember we looked at the betting odds of Scooch receiving the maximum 12 points from all the voting countries in Eurovision. Well, we say we 'looked', but really it was more of an elongated guffaw - there's not an effing chance of that happening. But what are the betting odds of another country gaining full marks from everyone at Eurovision? Ever so slightly better. Although prosthetic death creatures Lordi winning Eurovision last year has ensured that this year's competition has more opportunisticly gimmicky goons than ever before, the quality of songwriting overall seems to be marginally up; with one country in particular - you'll find out about them in time - in possession of a song that's already made them solid favourites. Could they manage to get full marks from everyone? Of course not - even if a country submitted a Eurovision song so universally perfect that just the sound of it stopped all wars, cleaned up the environment and gave everyone on Earth eternal life, Malta would still give them nil points because of bad feelings over a dispute about fishing quotas that took place 37 years ago. Current Eurovision betting odds - 50/1
Tomorrow - An Irish Eurovision number one in the UK? But if that's too long to wait - or you feel like making more money than you know what to do with - head right over to the Paddy Power Eurovision betting odds page to see the latest, and best, betting odds.
