Digg this!

eurovision betting odds macedoniaThe Eurovision Song Contest is rattling towards us, and we don't know who'll win it yet. But here's the next best thing: another lot of Eurovision betting odds.

It's a little known fact that the Eurovision Song Contest was invented during a six-day drunken bender attended by the heads of state from all the major European countries. Greece and Portugal had an argument because the Portuguese official thought that the Greek man was looking at his bird and, instead of fighting, decided to settle the matter with a slightly naff singing competition.

So here are the latest Eurovision betting odds for France and FYR Macedonia, with help from PaddyPower.com

France(pop. 63,044,000; a country whose metropolitan territory is in western Europe)Virginie Pouchain, Il Etait Temps. Virginie Pouchain won a nationwide talent contest to represent France at Eurovision, and beat 5,000 other wannabes. She's a hairdresser by trade, so we're fairly certain Terry Wogan won't let her anywhere near him in Greece. We're not sure what Il Etait Temps (The Time Has Come), is all about – even in English, the lyrics are all Little Book Of Calm nonsense: "Run, after an ideal, it's worth it/ Suffer. Oh what a treat when a dream is at the end," it goes. Not a clue. Current Eurovision betting odds – 100/1

Former Yugoslav Republic Of Macedonia (pop. 2,022,547; an independent state on the Balkan peninsula) Elena Risteska, Ninanajna. Elena Risteska is a pretty young thing who, judging by her Eurovision shots, enjoys wrapping herself up in leather and hugging speakers. We're a bit scared to ask why. Her song Ninanajna is about making all your wildest dreams come true: "I can make Beyonce and Shakira dance for you," she sings, and we believe her. They're both locked in a cupboard in her house, and she only feeds them if they dance for boys she brings home. Current Eurovision betting odds – 25/1

We’ll be listing all the other Eurovision entries in the run-up to the contest. If you can’t wait, check out the Novelties section of Paddypower to see all the latest Eurovision betting odds. Don't forget that Paddypower give you a free £10 bet when you open an account with them. Good luck!
