Eurovision Betting Odds: Elnur & Samir, Azerbaijan
We’re rounding out our first week of Eurovision betting odds with a doozy – don’t worry if you missed any so far, because this baby’s going on for months.
But, like most people, you’re probably wondering about the official Eurovision Song Contest colour scheme this year. Well, word’s just got out that it’s white, blue and red – a highly original blend of colours that’s unique for not appearing on any national flags whatsoever. Thank goodness they didn’t go with red, white and blue. Talk about egg on their faces! Phew!
Here are the Eurovision betting odds for Azerbaijan, with help from Paddy Power…
Azerbaijan – (pop. 8,621,000; the largest and most populous country in the South Caucasus region of Eurasia): Elnur Huseynov & Samir Javadzade, Day After Day
No, we didn’t think that Azerbaijan was a European country either, but there’s no point complaining about that now, because it’s in Eurovision and there’s nothing we can do about it. But can Azerbaijan hope to win Eurovision on its debut with Day After Day by Elnur Huseynov & Samir Javadzade? Nope. Not a chance. Without a doubt Day After Day is the worst Eurovision entry we’ve covered so far. Imagine a 007 theme-tune performed by a screaming eunuch and the deep-voiced man from Aqua and you’re only half way to uncovering how dreadful this song is. For the other half you’ll need to see what happens 17 seconds into the video above, after securing any loose ceramics you might have lying around your house first, of course. Usually at this point we’d provide you with a sample piece of translation to Day After Day, but we’re not going to because Elnur and Samir are singing in English. Yes they are. They bloody are. It just doesn’t sound like they are. Honestly, if this is the best that Azerbaijan can do, then forget about joining Europe – we should really saw around the border, tie it to a balloon and sent it off into space. Current Eurovision betting odds – 50/1
Next week – Belarus! But if that’s too long to wait – or you feel like making more money than you know what to do with – head right over to the Paddy Power Eurovision betting odds page to see the latest, and best, betting odds.

I’m not a big fan of Azeri, but frankly speaking I think these guys are so excited by their idea that it give a unique advantage to their performance. More over this is not to be judged as a pop song – this is rock opera. I guess the author of this article has bad taste and no education in music except cheap pop. IMHO.
I don’t get it, I just don’t. I have seen a LOT of comments throughout the internet about people saying this deserves a 12 and is being predicted as a definite top 10… After about 10 attempts to watch the full song over a couple of weeks I finally managed to do it but it wasn’t easy. This is the most ear-shattering terrible piece of crap song I’ve ever had the misfortune of being exposed to. I don’t think they could have come up with something worse if they tried. Rock opera?????????? Calling this a rock opera is just a poor attempt at writing off its terribleness as a higher form of art.
I think Azerbaijan have a big chance of bieng in the top 10. I mean, Finland were CRAP two years ago and they still won. Azerbaijan’s song is way better than Finland’s!
It is their first year, so I think we should just welcome them.
I dont agree with the writer of this article saying “No, we didn’t think that Azerbaijan was a European country either”. This is just ridicolous!! Has not everyone realised by now that Azerbaijan Is a part of Europe, it is Eastern Europe. No one makes any issues about Georgia and Armenia not being in Europe, when these three countries are all neighbours and are in the same continent. So there is no need to fuss about Azerbaijan either. By the way recently i read that geographers have carried out and investigation and found out that Azerbaijan is more in Europe than Georgia or Armenia. So now it is a fact that Azerbaijan is in Europe. It Is a part Eastern Europe. Therefore, it is a member of the “Council of Europe †and a part of the “UEFAâ€. Anyway putting all this all aside , I want to congratulate Azerbaijan on their first effort and am sure that they will end up in the top ten.
The author is a retard indeed. Azerbaijan is more European than Georgia and Armenia. The only difference is they are mainly muslims
Similar to Chechnya in Russia, that’s what seems to be bugging the imbecile author.
Adios
