Eurovision Betting Odds - Cyprus & Denmark

It's the end of our first week of Eurovision 2006 betting odds, and what fun we've had so far - learning that most other countries are banking on songs just as bad as ours.

Betting on Eurovision can have its ups and downs - as anyone who witnessed our shitty fit when berserk Norwegian rockers Wig Wam didn't win last year can testify - but at least it gives you a real reason to watch Eurovision, other than to grumble about how political it all is these days.

Here are the latest Eurovision betting odds for Cyprus and Denmark, with help from PaddyPower…

Cyprus (pop. 780,133; an island in the eastern Mediterranean Sea) - Annette Artani, When Angels Cry. Annette Artani is a bit of an enigma. We can't find any information about her, other than the fact she has co-written a Britney Spears song and she never ever smiles ever in any photo ever. Maybe Annette is so sad because her song, When Angels Cry, is such a tear-jerker. "Why do innocent children die?" she bawls over and over again, presumably until she breaks the audience's spirit and they all vote for her. Current Eurovision betting odds - 40/1

Denmark (pop. 5,411,405; geographically the smallest Nordic country) - Sidsel Ben Semmane, Twist Of Love. Sidsel Ben Semmane is only 17 years old, so we don't want to be too critical of her. Having said, she's an idiot and her song is shit. Just kidding. Well, a bit - we're not sure if she's an idiot or not, but her dreadful line-dancey song Twist Of Love is completely shit. We're not even going to give you any lyrics because they're such a lot of pretend cowboy bollocks. If Sidsel Ben Semmane wins Eurovision, we'll pull our eyes out with our fingers.
