Eurovision Betting Odds: Bad Scooch! Naughty Scooch!

It's time for our final look of the week at some very special Eurovision betting odds. Why are they special? Because we wrote them, that's why. Plus they're betting odds for something other than the winner of Eurovision. But mainly the us thing.

So far this week we've ascertained that Scooch probably won't get full marks at the Eurovision Song Contest, that no country will probably get full marks at Eurovision and that we'll whip people with our torn-out spines if the Irish Eurovision entry gets to number one in the UK. But today's batch of Eurovision betting odds are very special. Very special indeed.

Scooch to be thrown out of the Eurovision Final for miming - When Justin Hawkins from The Darkness didn't win Eurovision: Making Your Mind Up with his weird Agadoo song, he put his loss down to several things. The phone lines were rigged, he said, plus the public were stupid and racist, and also Scooch had been using unseen backing singers off-stage to make them sound better than they really were. And only the last one of these excuses was actually grounded in reality - Scooch did have backing singers off-stage helping them out, but that's well within the Eurovision rules. Also, Scooch surely can't be dumb enough to try and mime in front of a gigantic television audience, so the chances of Scooch being thrown out of Eurovision for miming seem thin. However, a Swedish singer is trying to get Scooch thrown out of Eurovision for a different matter - she's claiming that Scooch stole one of her songs, My Lovely Horse-style. So there is a possibility that Scooch will get thrown out of Eurovision, just not for a reason you can bet on. Current Eurovision betting odds - 18/1
