Digg this!

Eurovision, Eurovision 2009, Estonia, Urban Symphony, RandajadHere it comes – another massive dollop of Eurovision 2009 information. We’re so good to you.

But before we get into any of that – do you live in London? Do you know where the Scala is? Good, because on Friday there’s going to be a huge Eurovision preview party there, starring performers from Cyprus, Romania and Bulgaria. We suppose what we’re trying to say is get out of London on Friday.

Anyway, here’s the Eurovision 2009 rundown for Urban Symphony from Estonia

Estonia · Urban Symphony, Rändajad

We couldn’t possibly do this song justice by ourselves. Luckily, Wikipedia is here with a perfectly clear thematic explanation: “Rändajad, with a remarkable oriental flame to it, tells a story of neverending journeys through the sand deserts, and points out the risks on the way.” So that’s that all cleared up then. What Wikipedia doesn’t divulge, though, is that Rändajad by Urban Symphony sounds like a rubbish Ford Mondeo advert from about six years ago. What’s more, Rändajad translates as ‘nomad’, which means that this is the second Eurovision song about travelling folk so far, and we’re only up to E. Honestly, Andrew Lloyd Webber must have wished that he’d written his song about a circus juggler now. On the plus side, the lead singer of Urban Symphony is very pretty and, once she’s stopped bleating on about gypsies, she’d probably make quite a good Pantene spokesperson.

Tomorrow: Finland AND France? Hot cha!

Six beautiful girls from Estonia (yes please) are representing the tiny Baltic country this year
Two backing singers and a string crumpet. I love this tune. Shades of Overload (the breakthrough hit for Sugarbabes) give way to a pulsing classic eurobeat with a contemporary electronic edge. Whats not to like?

I am also from Estonia. I seriously appreciate your critics. You have to know how to accept positive and also negative critics.

I personally didn’t hear our song before the big competition. Reason being is that been too busy with work and I don’t live in Estonia since 5 years ago. I was incredibly surprised with the song, in a very positive way I mean. On my opinion the first 3 should have been UK, Estonia and then Norway.

On my opinion the main reason being why Norway won was the looks of the guy. He has the looks of the High School Musical which is real hit between all teenagers all over the Europe. The song wasn’t that great either, it was very good on my opinion but for me UK was better.

Though if you see the performance of UK closely, you’ll see that when Jade is walking down the stairs in the beginning of the song and closes up to one of the violin players, you’ll see that the violin player hits her mic by accident, though it’s completely Jade’s fault of getting too close. Beside that I really enjoyed her act.

    Best regards from Barcelona,
    Meelis
