2005 Emmy Awards are due to take place on September 18th. And we’re continuing to give you some insight on who to bet on.

Today, we start to look at the biggest category of the whole ceremony: the Best Drama Series. This year has seen an almost unstoppable amount of high-quality dramas pouring out of America. But which one has been the, um, unstoppablest?

So here are the latest betting odds for the 2005 Best Drama Series Emmy nominees, with some help from Betfair.com

The West Wing - The West Wing hasn’t been the same since the time
they rushed out that garbled response episode to 9/11. Since then, the whole show has
been very erratic. Having John Goodman as an acting President and lots
of talk about space rockets could be seen as signs of the show losing
it’s way. Plus, the real-life American government is way more
entertaining than fiction these days. But enough people still think The West Wing is
good enough to deserve an Emmy nomination, but it doesn’t stand a
chance of winning. Current odds - 35/4

Six Feet Under - Like The West Wing, Six Feet Under started strongly
then lost the plot a little bit before coming to an end this year. If it wins, it’ll be because of a weird sense of nostalgia from the judges. This is known as Everybody Loves Raymond syndrome. But
it’s unlikely that Six Feet Under will benefit from it. Current odds - 31/4

24 - The Daddy of the American drama series is also starting to look
a bit long in the tooth of late - after all, there are only so many
days you can have of running around shooting terrorists and looking a
bit grumpy. But it still pulls off the ridiculousness with an amazing
amount of panache. There are two giant new shows which are more likely
to win the award, but 24 still stands a glimmer of a chance. Current odds - 23/4
