Jennifer_garnerThe
2005 Emmy Awards are due to take place on September 18th, and it looks like the only place you’ll get to see bizarro-haired Donald Trump and that screeching woman from Will And Grace sing the theme-tune to a 40-year-old sitcom.

But that doesn’t interest us in the slightest. Oh alright – it interests us a little bit. But not as much as the thought of making a stack of cash by betting on the awards.

Today we’re looking at the badass women who make up the nominees for the Best Drama Actress category. It’s not the strongest year we’ve ever seen for dramatic actresses, so the betting is tight this time.

Here are the latest betting odds for the 2005 Best Drama Actress Emmy nominees, with a touch of help from Betfair.com

Jennifer Garner – Jennifer plays Sydney Bristow in Alias. Alias has
been a bit of an afterthought for those involved this year. JJ Abrams
has been busy directing Mission: Impossible III and raking in heaps of
Lost money, while Jennifer has got married to human fruit basket Ben
Affleck
, and let him get her up the duff. None of that has stopped her from
getting her fourth Emmy nomination, though. Will it be her first win?
It doesn’t look likely this year. Current odds – 7/1

Frances Conroy – Frances plays Ruth Fisher in Six Feet Under. Six
Feet Under
is one of those shows that slightly outstayed it’s welcome.
When it finally ended, it was to sighs of relief rather than the sound
of people begging for more. But no matter how tired the show got,
Frances played Ruth flawlessly throughout. She might not win the Emmy,
though, as she’s up against some big names. Current odds – 25/4

Patricia Arquette – Patricia plays Allison Dubois in Medium. Medium
only started being shown on British TV this week, but it’s already our
favourite show named after an underwear size. In it, Patricia’s
character tries to balance having a family with being a batshit freakazoid who
solves mysteries with her psychic powers. Sounds rubbish, but we’re
informed it isn’t. Current odds – 22/5
