Elton John Prepares To Become A Blushing Bride

Elton_john_weddingVeteran pop star Elton John will finally get to marry his long term partner David Furnish next month when he will march his old man up the aisle in a ceremony attended by only their parents.

The ceremony will take place on December 21, the day that civil partnerships between gay couples become legal in the UK. Elton must be thrilled about it; he’ll finally get the chance to upstage Posh Spice by showing her what a real wedding frock looks like: gold taffeta and diamond encrusted imitation mink – which should really bring out his eyes.

However, Elton John (CDs) – real name Reginald Dwight, and why would anyone
want to hide that belter of a name – and film maker David have opted
for a quiet ceremony instead of the ridiculous spectacle that his mates
the Beckhams inflicted upon the world. According to Elton:

"It’ll be a very small family affair and then in the evening there’ll
be a soiree somewhere, which we have yet to work out. But the ceremony
itself will be David’s parents and my parents and the two of us."

Elton and David – who have been together for 12 years – are known for their
lavish and eccentric parties, so we expect nothing less from their
wedding shindig. You can bet your bottom dollar and your last
Malborough Light that there’ll be singing and a-dancing, a-mincing and
a-prancing, all the way into the next week’s OK! Magazine.

And, although we wish the Dwight-Furnishes all the best for the future,
we’re not sure sour-faced Posh will be so generous – no doubt she’ll be
sat in a corner, wishing she had waited a bit longer before marrying
that divvy Becks, and instead had opted for the same-sex lesbo wedding
thing. Rumour has it Rebecca Loos will be at the party, Posh…
