Former Orange Juice singer Edwyn Collins has suffered a setback after being infected by MRSA in hospital, as he recovered from critical brain surgery.
The superbug infected a scar and has led to Collins being fed a diet of ‘powerful antibiotics’. It is thought that he contracted the MRSA virus several weeks ago.
The 45-year old Scottish singer, possibly best known for his 1995 hit ‘A Girl Like You’, has been staying at the Royal Free Hospital in North London after suffering a life-threatening haemorrhage three months ago. Collins had a further haemorrhage while receiving treatment.
He is reportedly in a stable condition and his wife told fans via his website that said he has ‘turned a corner’. We wish him a speedy recovery.
