Quite often when we’ve been found slumped at the wheel of our car in London of a weekend, we’ve been quick to blame George Michael. And it’s not just us: George Michael blames George Michael too.
Because, following his arrest at the weekend for being crazy passed out with a bunch of class C drugs apparently in his possession, George Michael had been quick to admit his guilt, saying it was: "My own stupid fault, as usual."
Remember yesterday we mentioned that George Michael (CDs) and Boy George
were easily mixed up in our young brains? Well, we’ve finally found a
difference – whereas at the Brits, Boy George batted away Chris Evans‘
questions about his drugs arrest by confusingly saying, "No, I think
that was you," George Michael has the decency to fully admit that his
drugs bust was his own stupid fault.
George Michael was arrested for a drugs offence at the weekend,
after police found him slumped at the wheel of his car in central
London. And now, speaking yesterday about the drugs bust, George
Michael said:
"I was in possession of class C drugs which is an offence and I have no complaints about the police who were professional throughout. I have been through enough in 24 years of dealing with the media to know what I am in for from them this week. Much of it will be inaccurate or simply untrue. I can handle that, it is my own stupid fault, as usual."
Does that mean he’s saying we’re allowed to tell lies about him
now? We’ve got some brilliant George Michael fibs, you know. But they
can wait. Anyway, George Michael felt the need to tell his fans in a
statement that just because he was slumped at the wheel of his car, it
didn’t mean he was mashed out of his box or anything:
"The only thing I care about is that people know that I was properly tested by the police doctor on Saturday night, who stated to the officers present that I was not impaired in any way and should be allowed to drive home. In fact, the only reason I didn’t drive home was that the police accidentally immobilised my car when they parked it."
George Michael must return to a police station next month
following test results on the substances found in his possession. But
we know what you’re thinking – you’re thinking of the greater threat.
The threat of George Michael releasing a funny song and video all about
the weekend’s incident, perhaps named My Own Stupid Fault (I Was Slumped At The Wheel Like A
Proper Monged Twat). But fret not, because George Michael says:
"I won’t make a record out of this one even though it is tempting."
