Downright Dynamite Downloads Of The Week: Easyworld, Edgar ‘Jones’ Jones, Grand National…
Then buzz it up

Are you ready for another week of copy & pasting band names, songs and albums into your favorite search engine? Well we hope so, because we're ready to tell you what's good. We put a lot of study into it this week too - with test tubes and what not. The most significant thing we learned is that M = Y-(P+17), and Fruity Pebbles are terrible with salt. Seriously, a college course taught us that.
As always, we'll tell you what you should be wanting, and you figure out where to want it best. This week we have tracks from Easyworld, Dntel, Mogwai, Night Ranger, Edgar 'Jones' Jones, and Grand National. What a grouping!
Easyworld: You & Me off Kerrang! - The Album 4 (Disc 1)
(Is Easyworld popular? We have no idea - though we do know they should be. This particular track we discovered just last week, and it's rock n' roll attitude has us completely smitten. It's loud, catchy, and if it was a girl it'd probably be a fat one.)
Dntel: (This is) the Dream of Evan and Chan off (This Is) The Dream of Evan and Chan
(Anyone else crazy for the Postal Service? Well this is the track that launched it all. It's a pre-curser to Give Up - and can go toe to toe with anything off it.)
Mogwai: Friend of the Night off Mr Beast
(If it isn't our old friend Mogwai, the only band around named after Gizmo's (off the the Gremlins movies) basic genus. We can tell you this is an instrumental track that makes us shake from pure delight. We first heard it on Zeilsteen radio - didn't we tell you about those guys?)
Night Ranger: Sister Christian off Radio Waves of the Eighties - Rock Hits
(Eighties cheese rock has never been better. Not only is this the most awesome song played in our office building elevator, it's also the one we always used to listen to before a big ballet recital. We had our honourable mentions stripped from us in a scandal later called 'talentless blog pays off judges with mustard coupon' by the media. We do, however, still have pictures of our ribbons.)
Edgar 'Jones' Jones: Oh Man That's Some Shit off Soothing Music For Stray Cats
(Jones is a modern throw back to fifties doo-wop - and this track has swears. Our oldies lovin' clean-languaged father is quite torn over whether he should like it or not. For us though, the five stars we put next to it on our iPod were a very easy decision.)
Grand National: Talk Amongst Yourselves off Kicking The National Habit
(This is a fine upbeat bit of music with a lyrical content about being able to take the blame when you throw up. If people take that advice, bulimia will be a totally different monster.)
Now listen to these beautiful choices via the magic of Napster
