Donald Trump Fires His Icy Uptight Female Crony
Most people watch The Apprentice USA to see Donald Trump bellow at some hateful morons in a bad voiceover, but for us the fun comes from seeing the sheer contempt that Trump sidekick Carolyn Kepcher has for every other human she meets.
Sadly, though, we won't be seeing any more of Carolyn Kepcher on The Apprentice, because it's being reported that Donald Trump has just fired her for being a bit too starry. Well, anyone watching The Apprentice in Britain will still get to see Carolyn Kepcher on The Apprentice, so long as they can stay up until 2am watching whatever hopelessly out-of-date episode the BBC decide to show us. But you get the idea.
Some non-insomniac British TV readers might not understand the significance of Donald Trump firing Carolyn Kepcher from The Apprentice and his corporation, so here's a British comparison; imagine Alan Sugar firing that meek, slightly anonymous old lady that sits next to him in the boardroom on The Apprentice. Yes, this story is that big.
Only, Carolyn Kepcher was so much more to Donald Trump on The Apprentice than that old lady (her name is Margaret, apparently) is to Alan Sugar, because Carolyn Kepcher is clearly evil incarnate. She obviously hates every other female on the face of the earth for trying to get in on her 'lady businessman' territory, while hating men for maintaining the patriarchal society that prevents her from rising up and making the world winter for 100 years but never Christmas like her hero, the witch from the Narnia film. It's probably not an exaggeration to say that Carolyn Kepcher has a glare so cold that your hair would turn to stone if you held eye contact with her for more than a second.
Not that she'll be using it now, though, because Carolyn Kepcher is probably sitting around her house in her jim-jams crying her eyes out, not shaving her legs and eating ice cream straight from the tub – Donald Trump has fired her from The Apprentice and the Trump Corporation. No reason has officially been given for the sacking of Carolyn Kepcher – who had worked for Donald Trump for 10 years – but it's being suggested that Kepcher was shown the door after focusing too much on cultivating her own celebrity through speaking engagements and book deals. Carolyn Kepcher will be replaced on The Apprentice by Donald Trump's own daughter Ivanka, while Trump's other crony George Ross – who remains at the Trump Corporation – will be replaced by Trump's son, Don Jr.
Actually, forget how much Carolyn Kepcher hates women, maybe the real woman hater here is Donald Trump. First he fires Martha Stewart from her own Apprentice show and now he's washing his hands of Carolyn Kepcher too? Who will be next on Donald Trump's firing list? The mother of his baby? Dear old Ruth Badger ? Where will the madness end? Where?

We actually hired Carolyn Kepcher to speak at a business luncheon about a year ago. I expected to meet a person just as you described, an icy uptight business person. The reality was much more surprising. She was a quiet well-spoken person. She was constantly smiling and cheery. Could this be the same person? Did they send a double? She never stopped smiling. Incredible. The best word to describe her was nice. Nice, not ice.
After the event, she hung around instead of leaving like most speakers. She was, in fact, one of the last people to leave. She listened with patience to every person who came up to her–even those who tried to give her sales pitches or wrangle some contact information to approach Trump. And all along she smiled, smiled, smiled. I even asked her about it. She said it seemed that they only would show the times when she was distracted or bored. In fact, the smile seemed to be her true personality so much, that I watched more carefully her appearances on the show. They did indeed seem to be times when she might not be paying attention–and very often, they cut away just as that smile was coming back. Smile smile smile.
So, perhaps reality shows really aren’t that real after all. Having to chose between which Carolyn was the real Carolyn, I’ll choose the one I met in person. When you see her off in the corner of a hotel lobby listening to somebody give her a sales pitch–and there is nobody else to impress, that probably shows you more the type of person she really is. Smiles, head nods, and patient encouragement. A real class act. Maybe this is why Trump fired her. Maybe too many people were learning that the ice was an act, and the nice was the real deal.
It does seem that Carolyn was independent and self-sufficient–rather different than the Eastern Europeans in need of a green card and sugar daddy that Trump specializes in. For the want of an under-the-belt plastic surgeon capable of mercifully adding an inch or two to the defectient donald, the pathetic man is sure wasting lots of energy.
