Ah … Fridays.

Since the dawn of time they have held unique connotations. Hecklerspray expects that Friday was the day that caveman used to wear casual clothes to work, hunting mammoths and the like in comfortable tracksuit bottoms rather than itchy fur loincloths.

Then civilisation evolved, and Friday became the day when – across this great British nation of ours – people flocked to their local Wetherspoons in their masses, hoping to spend a relaxing evening downing eighteen pints of Stella and fist-fighting in car parks.

And – of course – 2006 will go down as the year that Friday meant something new and different. That’s right: Disturbing Friday Fun, hecklerspray’s weekly feature in which we examine the – ahem – stranger side of the internet.

This week’s site? Not to get all potty-mouthed, but – quite frankly – it’ll scare the shit out of you. It’s We Like The Moon.

Regular readers will be aware that the last couple of DFF entries have been participation-based odd websites – ones where you can send in videotapes of yourself crying or find out exactly when you are going to die.

This time, there’s absolutely no input needed from the reader at all. And you should be thankful. Really. Because any sort of interaction with the twisted people behind We Like The Moon would surely – surely – only end in horrible frightened tears.

Basically, We Like The Moon is a music video. Sort of.

There are these two strange hamster/gerbil things. They have big cartoon eyes. Should you let them, they will rant and rave to a heavy guitar soundtrack about how much they like the moon. Don’t get the wrong impression – they like other things too. They even list a couple of them. They just don’t like these other things as much as the moon.

They really like the moon.

You have been warned. We Like The Moon is baffling, pointless and – as befits its inclusion in this feature – utterly, utterly disturbing.

Enjoy.
