Sometimes it's good to look into the abyss. Unless that abyss happens to be Wigan, in which case it's just best to run away as fast as you can. And make sure that your wallet is still safely tucked into your back pocket.

"That's all well and good," you say. "What if I'm too busy to look into the abyss? What if my life is too hectic to stop, take a breath and examine the sheer weirdness that surrounds me?" Then you're probably going to snort and sarcastically say: "yeah… like there's a website that conveniently does this for me every Friday."

Well wonder no more! Thanks to this quite frankly astonishing website, you can find out how to determine whether your "dog has a stomach ache" and how utilising this god-given ability is a "feeling beyond words."

Apparently it all began when the webmaster had broken their ankle and was lying in bed, making a slow recovery. At which point their cat leapt onto the pillow and announced:

"I know we come from different cultures, and maybe you don't think I can help you, but if you'll pet me, I will take away your pain."

Different cultures? Christ almighty - that's one way of putting it. In fact- just to expand on that - hecklerspray did a quick 'lifestyle comparison' with the office cat. The results were staggering. Apparently one of us sleeps by the fire all day, occasionally licking at the genital area, before sneaking out at night to go and kill things. And the other one has four legs and a tail.
