… or so says Courtney Love.
The world’s most famous groupie has injected a further dose of vitriol into her ongoing feud with Foo Fighters mainman Dave Grohl. Grohl has something of a reputation as being "the nicest guy in rock" – something which the man himself figures is down to the fact that he has "a goofy smile, and people are like ‘Awww’!"
Anyway – whatever Grohl’s musings – it’s fair to say that Kurt Cobain widow and walking drug basket Courtney has a somewhat different opinion.
In an interview with Spin magazine, Love puts aside her rampant self-obsession for a brief moment in order to vent some spleen. "Dave gets to walk away unscathed and be the happy guy in rock, when he’s one of the biggest jerks,", she snarls. "He’s been taking money from my child for years."
Somewhat harsh words, we’re sure you’ll agree. But what does Dave have to say in his defence? Absolutely nothing, that’s what. He’s staying as quiet as a guitar-thrashing mouse. His manager John Silva has simply announced that Mr. Grohl "wouldn’t comment" on Love’s outburst.
Incidentally, hecklerspray has a great idea for a range of T-shirts. It shows the famous black-and-white image of Kurt Cobain, big panda eyes staring into the desolate void. And at the top it says – in big bold letters – "What A Crybaby".
We’ve yet to find a backer. Funny, that.

Frankly, he came off as a bit of a jerk in the documentary about the Foo Fighters. He seemed nice (maybe a little cocky) when he was interviewed in it mainly because of his nice guy demeanor and goofy smile and he seemed to be forthcoming about everything, but his actions (or some) throughout each account in the history of the band seemed kind of despicable to me. Not a stand-up kind of guy: re-did the druming on each song withoug telling the drummer and eventually firing him over the phone. Him joining The Queens Of Stoneage without really caring of what his bandmates thought about it. And a few other things that struck me as odd. But the documentary didn’t even take an ironic twist on this. Didn’t even notice it. If you weren’t really listening to what he was saying he wouldn’ve came off as the nicest guy in the world. And I’m sure he is fine, but I am not as sure anymore.
