Daniel Baldwin In High Speed Crash Arrest Frenzy

How many of the Baldwin brothers does it take to change a lightbulb? We're not sure, but they'd all probably be equally grateful for the work. And Daniel Baldwin wouldn't do it - he's probably knackered his back in a car crash.

Daniel Baldwin is currently in a Los Angeles hospital after his - frankly shonky - decision to bomb around a 35mph zone at around 80mph ended up with his car smashing into a couple of parked cars, one of which apparently jumped 20 feet on impact. Sadly for Daniel Baldwin, this incident still doesn't constitute a hit, although it has meant that he's now getting featured in a smallish article on a British entertainment blog, so this is probably the most famous he's ever been.

The Baldwin brothers are like Hollywood's Harlem Globetrotters, although instead of doing snazzy tricks with basketballs, they star in a bunch of films that mostly aren't any good. And they're not black. And they don't have a cute whistled theme-tune. Look, our point is that there's quite a lot of them. And the Baldwin brothers have been in all kinds of films between them, like Beetlejuice, Glengarry Glen Ross, The Usual Suspects, Fair Game, Sliver, The Flintstones In Viva Rock Vegas, The Sex Monster and a weird film about wife-swapping we saw one night when we were channel surfing a few years ago.

However, none of these films starred Daniel Baldwin. Because Daniel Baldwin is, by and large, the shit Baldwin. He's been in a few films, sure, like Paparazzi and King Of The Ants - but he tends to be completely overshadowed by things his other brothers do, like being in rubbish lightly erotic Cindy Crawford movies or being the subject of Kim Basinger's home-made 'Your Daddy Is An Asshole' chocolate bar wrappers.

There's one place where Daniel Baldwin can shine, though - behind the wheel of a rented Ford Thunderbird. That's where Daniel Baldwin was yesterday, when he piled into a couple of parked cars doing 80mph in a 35mph area. E! Online reports:

According to police, at just before 1pm, Baldwin, 45, was seen weaving through traffic in West L.A, after which he ran a red light and smashed his rented Ford Thunderbird into two parked cars while going about 80 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone. One of the stationary vehicles, a Hummer, reportedly jumped about 20 feet on impact.

Daniel Baldwin was taken to a Los Angeles hospital, where his neck and back were looked at. It's thought that his injuries are slight - so slight, in fact, that the police decided that they'd get Daniel Baldwin on misdemenour charges of reckless driving and driving with a suspended license. And starring in a film called Shut Up And Shoot last year.
