FoldedWeekly lists of what’s cool/what’s not, what’s up/what’s down have been appearing in glossy magazines for years.

Everyone else has jumped on the bandwagon so we’re going to do the same. Mainly because they’re fun and don’t take long to read, but also ‘cos they’re easy on the writers.

Angelina Jolie up (folded), Lil’ Kim down (creased), that’s how it’ll work with us, people.

There. Feel free to disagree with us all you like, it won’t make a blind bit of difference.

    And hey, NN, don’t you dare diss the LEGEND that is Sir Scott of Mills.

    Message for Mr Burlington, I’m 50, but just someone who thinks that Radio 1 has too many northern voices on it!!

    You need a regional accent to get on the telly these days. Moira Stewart wouldn’t stand a chance.

    It’s about time we had some Northern English accents in the media; if it isn’t bland-voiced Southerners then they go to the other extreme and try to find as many Irish/Scottish/Welsh broadcasters as they can who are COMPLETELY incomprehensible, so then they’re looking as if they’re not being ‘the norm’.

    Give me a nice, friendly Northerner any day.

    And I thought Moira Stewart DID have an accent???

    You say you can’t understand the Welsh, Scottish etc, but we can only just about understand the northern accent! For example just look and listen to John Prescott - what a typical, common, moaning - “Thatcher closing the mines” northerner!! Rather listen to the Irish, Welsh etc, than a Northerner - just so ‘working class’

    Talk about stereotyping…John bloody Prescott?? Is that your sum total of Northerner knowledge??? Do you actually think that Northerners are LIKE him?!!!

    How ignorant. All the Radio 1 peeps (bar the infuriating Vernon Kaye) have such homely and very intelligent-sounding Northern accents, proving that you don’t have to bleat ‘baah humbug’ to be from North of Watford Gap.

    I find Christopher Eccleston, Michael Parkinson and the late, great Northener in the sky Richard Whiteley (God rest his Countdown soul) very easy on the ear, and they are as much working class as the Queen’s lavatory seat.

    And at least they have interesting, yet intelligable voices.

    Quite right, the likes of Whiteley, Parky etc are all very well educated people who got most of there schooling and class by studying at decent southern universities, and because of this fact they are not common and classless – other northerners are. Obviously you care more than me, but all I can say is that Northerners are, GENERALLY, common and classless!! Take care my John Prescott loving friend - and that is all I have to say to you!

    My my, you say you don’t care, yet you take the time and the trouble to find out which universities our Northern friends go to.

    I wouldn’t have a clue.

    Obviously you care more than you think?

    I went to a Northern University. I must be thick.
