The movie remake of Miami Vice is out soon, and people have become interested in hearing from its stars. Luckily all the focus is on Colin Farrell, which thankfully means we have less chance of hearing Jamie Foxx burst into one of his awful songs.
Because Colin Farrell seems to have got himself an apparent stalker. Dessarae Bradford disrupted filming of the Jay Leno show last week, when Colin Farrell was a guest, to walk onstage, distribute copies of a book called Colin Farrell: A Dark, Twisted Puppy and generally confuse everyone. Now Colin Farrell has a restraining out on Bradford, who is attempting to sue Farrell. For the third time. If only Alexander was this exciting, maybe more than six people would have gone to see it.
Miami Vice looks like a bag of cocks, doesn't it? Like a dreary overblown, overserious, super-depressing needless remake of a TV show most people had forgotten about. So thank God Colin Farrell's fruity personal life is here to spice things up a bit. You know, the same Colin Farrell who apparently once bugged a 70-year-old woman for sex, who is the star of an internet sex tape that you're never going to see, and whose excessive partying during the filming of Miami Vice put him in rehab.
You'd think it'd be hard for Colin Farrell to top anything in that list in the run-up to the Miami Vice release, but somehow he's managing it. And it's all down to a young woman named Dessarae Bradford, who has just been slapped with a restraining order keeping her at least 150 feet away from Colin Farrell or any of his family. It all started on Thursday's Jay Leno show, when an interview with Colin Farrell was disrupted when Bradford strolled onto the stage, only to be escorted off by Farrell, who reportedly asked for security to be called on her. The following day Colin Farrell applied for, and was granted, a temporary restraining order against Dessarae Bradford. In the legal documents, Colin Farrell wrote:
"I am concerned for the safety of my family, given Ms. Bradford's ongoing course of conduct and escalating unwanted personal contact."
But that's not the end of it, because Bradford is now apparently suing Colin Farrell for – according to her website – "stalking, harassment and slander, to say the least." It's the third pop she's had at suing Colin, having two previous lawsuits dismissed in November 2004 and July 2005 after claiming that he bombarded her with telephone calls and text messages. The 'slander' aspect has been added because, following her removal from the TV studio on Thursday, Colin Farrell apparently joked to Jay Leno about getting his first stalker. Which Dessarae Bradford says she isn't, despite trying to sue him three times, writing a book about him called Colin Farrell: A Dark, Twisted Puppy and recording a song for her MySpace page called Colin Farrell Is My Bitch. At a press conference, Dessarae Bradford told a group of 10 journalists:
"Colin has hurt me so deeply, and I'm here to disparage the rumours and lies. I am not a stalker, and he's machete-chopped my name (in public)."
Stalker or not, it looks like the screwdriver-chuckers of the world had better start raising their game.
