Coldplay Want to Confuse You

Coldplayalbum

Southern Indie-pop nancy boys Coldplay want to play games.

Coldplay’s new album ‘X&Y, their third if you count the other two, contains a secret code hidden within the cover artwork. Or should we say ‘artwank’?

The inexplicably popular beat combo seem to be aiming for some Pink
Floyd
-esque mystique in their packaging, because their music sure as
hell doesn’t have any.

Hidden messages on sleeves? hecklerspray
is now taking bets that by album number five, Coldplay will be living
in the rainforests, inventing a new kind of music with the native
tribes. Or writing concept albums from the viewpoint of depleting
shoals of cod.

The Palophone record company excitedly assume fans will ponder over
the cover’s meaning and then sort of talk about it for a bit and then
go down the shops for some milk.

On June 6th you can amble down your local record emporium and pick
up a copy of X&Y to make up your own mind.  Maybe this secret code
can explain the band’s inexplicable success as pop’s new Simon and Garfunkel?  Hmm?  Maybe not.

Can’t wait two months?  Click here (guess where this’ll take you) and check out the cover now.

Pre-order ‘X&Y’ here – for less than £9!
