Adam Sandler Click US Weekend Box OfficeHooray for Adam Sandler! And hooray for his slightly rubbish, by-the-books man-child comedy films that are always mostly disappointing but still quite popular! Click, his latest film, is top of the US weekend box office.

Perhaps Click appealed to the US weekend box office crowd because the thought of owning their own remote control for their lives - the basic conceit of Click - struck a chord deep within them. And it does with us, too - if we had a Click-style remote control, we could have zapped through The Longest Yard, 50 Dates, Little Nicky, Mr Deeds and Big Daddy in a few seconds instead of wasting so much of our precious lives watching them.

So Click is the top film in the US weekend box office, and the story of Adam Sandler controlling his life with a magical remote control has opened up a world of hilarious, classic Adam Sandler comedy. Comedy like the joke where Adam Sandler fast-forwards something he doesn't like, or when he rewinds something he does like. Or when he pauses something. And no other jokes. Here's the US weekend box office top five:

1 - Click (Have you seen Liar Liar? Click is just like that, only with a remote control of a wish about lying. And one of the only person in the world less funny than Jim Carrey) $40,000,000

2 - Cars (Pixar film titles are great - they make a film about toys, they call it Toy Story; they make a film about cars, they call it Cars. If Pixar had made Click, they'd have called it Twat With A Remote Control) $22,540,000

3 - Nacho Libre (A film with a fat wrestler in it, just like Suburban Commando) $12,138,000

4 - Waist Deep (Christ knows what this one's about. A children's swimming pool, probably) $9,452,000

5 - The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift (Exactly like Cars, except the cars don't have giant scary talking faces) $9,211,000
