Thank God I’m not the only one who was disgusted by these two nominations. As a composer working in the modern classical field it’s bad enough being swamped by the massive publicity machine behind artists like McCartney and Sting (whom I respect as pop musicians) but to have what can only be descibed as dross (sorry Sting, but you just can’t sing Dowland; it’s embarassing) be nominated against some of the massive talent out there in the classical world, just makes me want to pack up and leave these media-cred-blinded British Isles.
