Geez, if you would just do your homework instead of accusing Bale of ‘beating up’ his mom and sister. His mother insulted Bale and his wife, so Bale got angry and did some yelling and cursing. Some accounts say that Bale ‘pushed’ or ‘brushed’ his mother in an attempt to get her to leave his hotel room. Bad judgment on Bale’s part, maybe, but hardly a beating. Read some news articles and blogs before you accuse someone of committing a violent act…

Ad nauseum, but assault means the threat of violence, battery means the actual “beating up” you mention. Bale was charged with assault.
