It's not out yet, but The Dark Knight looks set to be a huge hit.
So much so, that Christian Bale is itching to make a third Batman movie already. Bale says he's looking forward to seeing whether Christopher Nolan can top the 'artistry' and 'emotional intensity' of this film, and that he'd love to be a part of it.
Yeah yeah yeah – listen, Christian Bale can spout as much nonsense about artistic worth as he likes, because we all know why he wants to make another Batman film. It's because Batman law quite clearly states that the third Batman movie in any series is the point where the Bat-nipple comes into play. You'd have to be a crazy person to turn down the Bat-nipple.
Christian Bale is mad-bent on revisiting all the old franchises that have been left for dead, isn't he? First he decided to become Batman, then he signed on to make a load of new Terminator films. What next?
Personally we're hoping that he takes the lead in a new clutch of dark, emotionally-intense Ernest movies. You know, we really want to know what profound psychological childhood trauma Ernest went through before the events of Ernest Goes To Camp took place, and Christian Bale's the only man for the job in our opinion.
But if that doesn't happen, Christian Bale is happy to just churn out more Batman films until the end of time. The Dark Knight hasn't even been released yet, but it's already whipping up a gigantic storm of hype thanks in part to Heath Ledger's untimely death, and Christian Bale wants to see if everyone can repeat the trick without anyone dying this time. If Magazine reports:
"The possibility of doing another one is completely Chris Nolan's decision and if he's doing it, then absolutely," Bale says. "He's presented himself with a huge challenge of surpassing this one I believe, and very much so with surpassing the Joker as a villain. You know, how do you up that? It's a very tricky thing to do. If anybody can do it, I think Chris can. So that's his choice."
Bale's absolutely right, of course – the third sequel traditionally provides film-makers with a vast amount of artistic choices. For instance, should Batman 3 go the way of Beverly Hills Cop 3 and be set in a funfair? Should it go the way of Jaws 3 and be a 3D movie where the baddie gets blown up at the end after eating a grenade? Or should Batman 3 go the way of Spider-Man 3 and feature an egg-based dance number and a haircut that makes people evil?
All three, hopefully. Just so long as there's no Robin. We can't even ironically entertain the idea of that option happening.

Well, obviously the entire premise of this story was proven false as anyone who’s seen The Dark Knight so far will tell you. Yes, there are terrible sequels to all kinds of movies, but that is no reason not to approach sequels in general with an open mind; particularly if the original is as promising as Batman Begins and now The Dark Knight. Also, Christian Bale IS Bruce Wayne, I’m sure he will be just fine as the Terminator, and no one else on Earth could make Demetrius from A Midsummer Night’s Dream even vaguely likable (or interesting). He may take on roles that have a good chance of being hackneyed, but he has the talent to bring something original to them.
Had completely forgotten that Bale played Demetrius.
Of course, he rocks in everything. I’m a little worried about him becoming known as an “action hero”.
He’s so much more than that. Current best working actor out there. So underrated and unappreciated, and he doesn’t seem to be bothered by the lack of recognition or awards.

he didnt want it because of the bat nipple… no one likes the bat nipple, to cliche.. he wants it because of 1)the money and 2)because everyone loves when he plays batman. what i dont understand is why he is like ‘if nolan wants to make another one’ i bet he is going to make 4 more determined on the 66 million dollar opening day margin. these batman movies are the best yet and i cant see anyone better to play them then christian bale.

well, it’s almost the end of september and I finally took the time to watch the dark knight. I absolutely loved the movie and quite honestly, I was not expecting it to be this good. it far surpassed my expectations. So much, that I am already looking forward to a 3rd sequel.
it seems it’s following a different timeline, so i sure hope that batgirl shows up on this movie and hold off on robin till a 4th or 5th movie.
As for villains, I wonder who will be the antagonists: clay face, mad hatter, poison ivy, mr freeze, penguin, catwoman, scarface, riddler and I wonder how many more villains i’ve left out.
The fact that Gordon still has his son and wife, kinda hints it out that in the 3rd movie they will die and his daughter barbara will want to take revenge, thus becoming batgirl.
The ending left me wondering if Lucius Foxx (Morgan freeman) will truly be or not on the next movie helping out batman…
There is just so much material to work with that I just can’t wait until it is announced. Since Joker didn’t die in the movie, it’s possible that he’ll reappear on the 4th movie (i don’t think it’d be good for him to show up on the 3rd).
I personally think the addition of Robin could be a masterstroke, so long as they cast Michael Cera as Dick Grayson. Can you see it?

My name is Anmoldeep Singh Chahal but I prefer everyone to call me Anmoldeep. I’ll get right to the point and here it goes. I seriously think they should make another Batman movie. Of course Heath Ledger is dead but that doesn’t mean quit making the Joker in the batman series. R.I.P. Heath Ledger. Batman is my number one favorite superhero. However I don’t get how Batman is a superhero with no superpowers. Anyways, I seriously think they should make another Batman movie and Christian Bale better be in it because without Christian Bale, I will never watch a Batman movie ever again because Christian Bale is my number one favorite actor and he’s the best Batman ever. However in the next Batman movie, they should really introduce The Riddler and Jim Carrey would be an awesome Riddler. They should even introduce that Lizard guy in the next Batman movie and put the Black Cat in it. Halle Bary should play the Black Cat in the next Batman since Halle Bary is hot. LOL!!!!! No joke. Those should be the villains in the next Batman movie. They should not introduce the Joker for a while in the next Batman movies. Well that’s my option and that’s how the next Batman movie should be.
Oh one more thing. They should not introduce Robin in the next Batman movies because the whole Batman story will be a little ruined.
I beg the director and Bale that please put Christian Bale in all of the Batman movies that you guys make.
