Chris De Burgh To Inflict Himself On Iran
Then buzz it up

Iran. They're part of the axis of evil, you know.
Why? Well, because chimp-in-command Georgie Bush says so.
Why else?
Because of their constant, sickeningly misogynist repression of women? Or their charming little policy of hanging homosexuals? Well, they're bad enough (unless you read The Independent, in which case they're just cultural differences which we should 'respect'; you know, the same way we should 'respect' a Rottweiler's right to savage a toddler). Well, hecklerspray's definition of evil is something of a more universal one.
One that involves Chris De Burgh.
That's right. De Burgh - hitmaker behind such classics as Lady In Red, and, erm, all those other ones, is all set to play a concert in Tehran. Astonishingly, he's the first Western artist to have been allowed to do so since the 1979 revolution. Christ almighty - even Cliff Richard is seen as edgy round those parts.
De Burgh is gearing up to play a gig with Iranian popsters Arian (we're just going to go ahead and assume that isn't a holocaust reference - after all, it never happened, right? Right?). Arian's manager has told news agency Reuters that the live De Burgh collaboration hasn't caused the slightest bit of fuss:
"There is no problem with holding a joint performance. We are trying to organise the concerts, scheduled for June and July."
The whole thing is taking place at a 12,000 seat stadium. Which, coincidentally, seems like a far crowd than the monobrowed fool could attract anywhere else in the world.
Hang on…
