Then buzz it up

A new reality TV show called ‘The Play’s The Thing’ will launch on Channel 4 to seek - and possibly destroy - a new playwright, with the winner seeing their stage show hosted in London’s West End.
A Dragon’s Den-ish panel of expert theatre bods will judge the submissions before selecting just three, from which one will emerge victorious.
Wannabe writers should quickly start thinking about what sort of synopsis, sample dialogue and character descriptions they might want to submit. Producers aren’t said to be looking for complete scripts, according to the BBC.
hecklerspray has risen like a sexual Phoenix to this challenge and will issue its demands for a play based on characters from weird Tom Waits songs, with protaganist Jimmy Corkhill acting as narrator, voice all shrill and delivered via a Vader death mask.
We’ll need dry ice and minimal lighting. Spots. Blue and white. We’ll need animals too. And a 128 piece Hungarian folk orchestra. Hold on, has this been done?
Any writers that go in for this should let us know, so we can follow your progress.
Thesptastic, people.
There might be a bit more at: www.channel4.com. Alternatively, there might not be.
