Now that I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here has ended, the British public can no longer laugh at famous people making arses out of themselves. Thank God, then, that Celebrity Big Brother is on its way.
I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here disappointed a little this year, mainly because everyone in there was so bloody nice to each other all the time. While we have our fingers crossed that Celebrity Big Brother will be full of nasty, spiteful, vicious, hateful celebrities; there’s no way of knowing for another month until Celebrity Big Brother kicks off on January 5th. And that means one thing: rabid speculation!
We’ll be keeping you posted on any piece of Celebrity Big Brother gossip, whispering or general tittle-tattle that we happen to stumble upon in the run up to the start of the series. And that starts here, with news of some possible inclusions in the Celebrity Big Brother house…
Daniel MacPherson – According to reports, Daniel MacPherson is the latest big name to be added to the Celebrity Big Brother books. Well, medium-sized name. OK, tiny name. Who’s Daniel MacPherson? How could you forget -he played shirtless surfer git Joel Samuels in Neighbours. No? He played PC Cameron Tait in The Bill? Jesus in Godspell? You still don’t recognise him? OK – last try: he played Prince Charming in the 2000/01 Cinderella pantomime in Canterbury. So now you know who he is. Well, Daniel might be Celebrity Big Brother next year.
Esther Rantzen - Everyone, on the other hand, knows who Esther Rantzen is. She’s the woman who used to look at vegetables that were shaped like vaginas on That’s Life. Famous for her enormous teeth and irritating voice, Esther would happily fill the maternal, slightly intellectual role that shows like Celebrity Big Brother need. Think of her as the Carol Thatcher of the series. Although nothing has been signed yet, we’d expect Esther to be in the new series of Celebrity Big Brother as it’s an Endemol show, and the head honcho of Endemol – Peter Bazalgette – was one of Esther’s That’s Life boys. Tenuous, yes, but it’s all we’ve got.
Anna Nicole Smith – Anna Nicole Smith, if rumours are to be believed, has already put her name down to appear in Celebrity Big Brother. And what a glorious mess she’ll be if it’s true. She’s already shambled her way through her own reality TV show – The Anna Nicole Smith Show – which was like watching a million cars smash into each other at once in slow motion. Seeing Anna Nicole Smith on Celebrity Big Brother would be entertaining and terrifying in equal measure. But at least she’ll probably take her top off, right kids?
