For some, celebrity sightings are exciting enough as they are. But you know what makes spotting a star even more fun? If that celebrity has been dead for years!
That’s right, plenty of celebs have been spotted way after they’ve left the physical world. People see them all the time, in the form of apparitions, of course. Believe in them or not, here are a handful of creepy-as-shit celebrity ghost sightings.
Elvis
Elvis’ ghost has reportedly been seen everywhere, from the old RCA studios in Nashville to his home in Graceland. But he also rented a home in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Bel Air, where his spirit apparently still lurks. Check out this photographic “evidence” and see for yourself.
John Lennon
John’s son, Julian, claimed that his father visited him in the form of a white feather, and Paul McCartney claims that John was present during the recording sessions for ‘Free As A Bird.’? Paul, Ringo and George were taking a picture after the recording when a white peacock wandered into the shot. Paul said it was John’s ghost. He also noted:
“We put one of those spoof backwards recordings on the end of the single (Free As A Bird) for a laugh, to give all those Beatles nuts something to do. I think it was the line of a George Formby song. Then we were listening to the finished single in the studio one night, and it gets to the end, and it goes, ?zzzwrk nggggwaaahhh jooohn lennnnnon qwwwrk.? I swear to God.?
Jim Morrison
When it was open, Jim boy supposedly haunted the bathroom of Mexico Restaurant Y Barra, an eatery in Los Angeles that used to be The Doors’ recording studio.
“Jim Morrison is definitely still here,” said the restaurant’s manager at the time. “Funky things happen all the time we can’t explain.”
Right. Because groaning is just such an abnormal thing to hear in the restroom of a Mexican restaurant.
The venue is now, appropriately, a whiskey bar.
Marilyn Monroe
Monroe’s spirit can supposedly be seen in a full-length mirror at the lobby of the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. According to Wikipedia:
“In December 1985 a maid named Suzanne Leonard was dusting the mirror when she saw a blonde woman standing directly behind her reflected in the glass. She turned to speak to the woman, but no one was there. When she turned back, the reflection was again behind her.”
Supposedly, lots of people have seen this apparition. In fact, here’s a photograph of it:
Spooky!
Farrah Fawcett
According to Tori Spelling (so consider your source) Fawcett contacted her during a seance with psychic medium John Edwards.
“It was pretty surreal,” Spelling said. “We were neighbors for years. She basically wanted me to give a message to [Fawcett’s son] Redmond and to her family and she was doing these very specific call-outs for things that they would understand.”
Kurt Cobain
In 2000, a bar manager from Essex claimed that Cobain was haunting her via a Compaq Presario laptop. Apparently, Cobain asked for her help, and then finally demanded that she kiss him. She obliged, and the computer reportedly stopped working.
I’m guessing she gave it more than a kiss.
Michael Jackson
Jackson’s ghost was reportedly caught on camera during a broadcast of Larry King Live.
King did a segment on Jackson’s Neverland home, and viewers caught a glimpse of a dark shadow on a wall. The Internet went bat shit, claiming that it was Jackson’s ghost. Unfortunately, the mystery was solved and it wasn’t the ghost of the King of Pop. So what was it? An actual dark shadow on a wall.
chez says
Shouldn’t Keith Richards be on this list? Pretty sure he died years ago, and he gets spotted all the time.
