In WW II German submarines were sinking lots of allied ships - boat loads, if you will. It was because the warships were slow and clunky. The U-boats slipped in underwater, fired some torpedoes - sinking almost whatever they wanted. The US government needed a way to avoid all this. A common man might think a better rudder, or boat-side rocket boosters might work.

The US, however, would prefer to try bending light to cause invisibility. According to some - they succeeded.

Popobawa is a creature not necessarily nailed down in terms of solid description. Some call him a ogre, some a ghost or a shape shifter. What is clear about the creature though, is that as recently as 2006 he’s been blamed for entering men’s homes and sodomizing them in their own beds. The madness went as far as men refusing to sleep at home for fear of being victimized by the winged monster.

Many believe the creature takes human form by day, and lives among the people. Others believe he’s just a lonely, horny gay monster accidentally unleashed on the public back in the seventies. Whatever he is, we have more on him right here.

On April 5th, 1909 The Phoenix Gazette ran a front page story that was pretty different from the one it printed the day before. It was also very different from any printed ever since it. It's about an explorer named G.E. Kinkaid, who happened upon an enormous cavern while boating solo down the Colorado River. In it lay the remains of an underground civilisation long since dead.

The article goes on to state that the Smithsonian - the museum-iest museum in all the world - was funding further exploration of it. And what did it find? Well, let us tell you…

Now the video mentioned in the headline there is nowhere near as explicit as you're hoping, you deviant. That said, picture it - there you are out in the wild camping away, when suddenly you're woken up my a super-horny Bigfoot tickling your nethers. It's a frightening predicament really, one that, depending on what the mythical ape-person is wearing, we're pretty sure we hope to never find ourselves in. Again, we'd like to stress here it depends on what the thing is wearing. If it's Versace we just might be in.

As ludicrous as the whole thing sounds - there's a guy who actually claimed something like this pretty recently. Minus the high fashion of course.

Satanists can certainly be a pesky bunch. Not only do they insist on slitting goats all over town and hanging the entrails in a tinsel-like fashion around old abandoned barns, but their people skills are generally limited too. For instance, according to former mayor 'Ken Williams,' some time ago they kidnapped him and made him hide from his first family for approximately three decades.

Honestly devil-people, if you're gonna pull that kind of stuff then you are absolutely not welcome in any traditional society. Go on now - git.

This week: Cryptozoology/Odd Sightings

Cryptozoology has a stuffed-full menu of weird creatures that have had dozens of sightings all over the world. The Jersey Devil has got to be one of the best known, but it seems it's sightings don't happen quite as much as others in its great big monster family. Once though, almost a hundred years ago, a whole bunch of firemen hosed one right off a roof.

Then it attacked a dog and got shot at by police. Quite an experience from all we've read.

This week: Scientific Wonders

In June of this year you're gonna get fed up with your Nana's dependence on pain killers, blood thinners and skin tighteners. You're gonna take it upon yourself to flush the whole bunch of 'em down the privy, and she'll die precisely two hours later for lack of her medicinal necessities. That's murder, friend.

Don't worry though, because you won't have to live with offing your Dad's Mom forever, you know, in prison and what-not. That's because according to some legitimate Russian brains, a time portal will briefly open in May of 2008 in which visitors from the future can step through.

Government willing, you could use the chance to set things straight now, couldn't you?

This week: The Unexplainable

The problem with eighties architecture was that all the doors to buildings were far too formal. They were all very symmetrical, breeze-proof, and most had the overrated ability to open and close. That's way inside the box, man.

Imagine then, our surprise when the renovations we made to our family's west living-room wall with what was certainly an abandoned idling garbage truck went under-appreciated. We were in our room for millenia we tell you, and although we don't believe our father used guard dogs as an internment tool, there was a good chance the family poodle would have gone for the throat had we so much as cracked the door.

Still, that's nothing compared to Anatoly Titsky. He kept his wife and kids locked up in an isolated and haphazard prison camp modelled after Auschwitz for two years.

This week: Religion

If hecklerspray had a time machine we'd totally travel back and warn the Aztecs about Cortes. Then, once properly adored, we'd move all our crap into the God-room atop their vine-covered temple and allow them to worship us the way all non-Aztecs apparently deserved.

But unfortunately time machines are at least a decade out, and by the time they get here we're sure gaining the respect of long-dead native American peoples will no longer concern us. It'd be cool though, wouldn't it?

Just ask Steve Cooper, he's a British guy who now gets worshipped as a Goddess in India.

This week: Scientific Wonders

If Wonder Woman was smart, she'd use her invisible-jet technology to make an airline. Tremendous success would be unavoidable - everybody would have a window seat, and the guess work involved in the aeroplane bathroom would be more entertaining than the in-flight movie. And extremely public.

Unfortunately though, on the island of Mepos from where we're pretty sure Wonder Woman is originally from, they just don't share technology. But it looks like we don't need them to. The Ministry of Defence has recently announced they can make tanks invisible.

And since that engine noise is pretty unnoticeable it's really looking like their enemies are effed.

This week: Ghosts/Myths

The Battle of Gettysburg was just what it sounds like - a military battle that took place in Gettysburg, PA. Surely you're familiar with it - Abraham Lincoln, Slavery, the Gettysburg Address… you know what we're talking about, right? Well in that battle probably millions of bullets flew.

Despite the massive quantities of metal whizzing all around, only one civilian died in the mess - Jennie Wade. She was making bread for some union troops when she was struck down. The house where she died is considered 'officially haunted,' by some groups allowed to dish out titles like that.
