The Office USA Vs The Office UK: Top Moments
By Stuart Heritage on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 3:00pm | 22 Comments
The Office USA Vs The Office UK: Top Moments Like everything from cultural imperialism to one specific type of muffin, The Office was a British idea copied by the Americans.
Both the British and American versions of The Office have been stormed the ratings, both the British and American versions of The Office have mined comedy from awkward and mundane situations and both the British and American versions of The Office have spawned movie stars, as seen in everything from Get Smart to Love, Actually to Pirates Of The Caribbean to that rubbishy George Clooney film about American football.
But which is better - the British Office or the American Office? It's a debate that everyone has an opinion on but nobody has comprehensively won. And that's why we're here now. Using a complex scientific algorythm based on five categories, we've decided to find out which version of The Office is best. You may disagree with us if you like. Just know that if you do, you're wrong...

MySpace Trawl – The Longcut

MySpace Trawl – The Longcut This week, popstars seem to have taken a lot of flack.
On X Factor, Dannii Minogue tried to make a joke about one of the contestant’s sexuality. This epically failed, and now readers of The Daily Mail are flapping around and spilling cups of tea everywhere. Stephen Gately passed away naturally in his early thirties and horsealike Leona Lewis got belted. We assume it was off an angry Snow Patrol fan who didn’t like her cover version of Run.
Whilst these so called stars are pumped in to your brain at every given chance on TV/radio/sofa advert, it’s impossible to get away from them. Most of the time, musical gems are lurking in your own city and will go unnoticed by people who are scared to listen to someone they’ve never heard of. Can we introduce The Longcut to you?

Steve Austin – The Hecklerspray Interview
By David Scarborough on Monday, October 12, 2009 at 4:00pm | One Comment
Steve Austin – The Hecklerspray Interview Meeting the wrestler formally known as Stone Cold Steve Austin feels like being back at school again, waiting outside the headmaster’s office to be summoned in to talk.
Except we don’t remember our headmaster having the ability to knock our nose to the back of our head with a look. Steve Austin is about our height, but with the muscle mass of a bungalow attached to each arm. Shaking his hand, it soon becomes apparent how brittle we are compared.
Instantly his southern accent and smile are disarming. He has constant stories of the movie biz, his wrestling career as the infamous ‘Stone Cold’ and seems genuinely excited to be working with some top actors at the moment. So we gave Steve a right good grilling...
The 20 Most Awesome Movie Cameos Ever

The 20 Most Awesome Movie Cameos Ever Cameos in movies are always a bit of a double-edged sword.
On one hand they can provide audiences with a reaction of genuine delight when they find a big-name star who was not listed in the opening credits has suddenly turned up on screen to enliven and enrich the film in progress.
The more negative reaction however can see fans of a particular actor howling in anger as some wannabe gate-crashes some other big-name star’s party – usually with a scene of such gravitas that it completely overshadows the main star’s performance.

Creased or Folded? hecklerspray Tells You the Way it is Can and can’t do attitude.
Folded:
Rito a Los Angeles by Giuseppe De Luca (featured near the end of Ocean’s Twelve all those years ago. You’ll want to rob someone in a ridiculously stylised way when you hear it. Or maybe just buy the record. Buy the record, that's best)
National Lampoon’s reboot (no, no, this is a terrible idea, but ...
MySpace Trawl – Hudson Mohawke
By Matthew Laidlow on Friday, October 9, 2009 at 4:00pm | No Comment
MySpace Trawl – Hudson Mohawke Slick sounding hippity hop beats and soulful R&B doesn’t normally come out of the UK. When it does, it normally has a raw edge carved into the production.
And an annoying moron chanting “Brixton/Leicester Square crew” over the top. Hudson Mohawke makes instrumental music that sounds like the above, but it doesn’t quite sound like the styles listed above.
