MySpace Trawl: Buffalo Killers

MySpace Trawl: Buffalo Killers Like rock, of a vintage kind, with balls out and great beer guts sticking out from faded tees, gathering up the crumbs dropped from big ol' beards?
Then you need a word with Cincinnati's Buffalo Killers, who have peddling vintage groove laden rockin' fuzz psych spectacular under the radar for some years. They've been gaining admiring glances from support slots with The Black Crowes, who clearly seethe with jealousy at a band able to rock harder, louder and with more funk than anyone else in the battlefield.
This is real shit-kicker rock to knock your spots clean off.
MySpace Trawl: Mazes

MySpace Trawl: Mazes Sometimes there isn't music ugly enough to tell you how you feel.
Of course, by ugly, that doesn't mean a withered hand chopping out power chords with someone singing who makes Thom Yorke look like Mr Universe. No, we're talking about No Fi.
Absolutely zero in terms of fidelity means checking out the skuzz-pop of Mazes who record their music through the speakers on their telly.
MySpace Trawl: The Maladies of Bellafontaine

MySpace Trawl: The Maladies of Bellafontaine Folk music was once the language of impoverished people singing about their first born getting hung by poshos and the cries of a people in chains, repressed by other poshos.
Then, at some point in history, folk music stopped being a language, but rather, something powered by its sense of own self worth. Riffs recycled, along with the tin cans that once housed organic pulses and the like. It's enough to make you puke, especially when the NuFolkies end up flogging their faux DIY charms to a Daewoo commercial or some junk.
Twee and insipid seems to be the way to get ahead in advertising.

MySpace Trawl – Clark After doing this feature for a shedload of years, we hope we’ve vaguely introduced you to something new and exciting.
Indie children may learn that every word doesn’t need to rhyme for something to be classed as a song. On the flipside, some creative types even go as far as using vegetables to make banging beats and a delicious soup for afters.
We want to indulge you in everything from full-throttle noise to orchestral delights. We don’t aim to discriminate at all. Recently it’s been about those bands that can make a brilliant pop tune while bringing something new to the format. Say hello to Clark who's been making awesome electronica for ages.

MySpace Trawl – Flamboyant Bella “OMG what did you get? I only got 17 A* grades.” Across, the country, that is what various school children will utter as they rip open their GCSE envelope.
Will they count for anything? Not really, in two year's time they’ll be told that their A-Level exams are so simple that a dyslexic goat with severe mental ...
Hey Look! It’s A Candle Thieves Music Video

Hey Look! It’s A Candle Thieves Music Video Remember the other week when we brought you the wonderful music of The Candle Thieves via our MySpace Trawl feature? Of course you ruddy do!
It appears the band have been able to use all sorts of pretty colours and sellotape them together to create a video for The Sunshine Song. Don't go thinking its a botched job down on a hand held camera for £20.
Oh no, what we have is a wonderfully crafted video which perfectly reflects the sound of the song. Thank God for that, the last thing we wanted to see was the duo standing on a building looking moody in the rain.

MySpace Trawl – Mates Of State Ever get the feeling you’re missing out or are simply excluded from the awesome stuff that’s going on?
While all your mates are hanging out together after school, all you do is pick your nose, ear and arse and work out what flavours taste the best.
Mates Of State have some pretty awesome friends who we love. Santigold and Death Cab For Cutie are both artists that plenty of people know and appreciate. But why not this duo?
MySpace Trawl – Jonsi & Alex

MySpace Trawl – Jonsi & Alex We may have gotten mixed up a bit this week. You see, Jonsi is the frontman of Sigur Ros.
However, alongside his boyfriend Alex they both create art together under the name Riceboy Sleeps. Riceboy Sleeps also happens to be the title of the debut album from the duo who record under the name Jonsi & Alex.
Confused? You shouldn’t be.
