When his murder case finally went to court, Phil Spector always had an ace up his billowy, slightly effeminate sleeve – Bruce Cutler, his theatrical foghorn of a lead defence attorney; except that's what Bruce Cutler isn't any more.
With testimony in the Phil Spector murder trial in its dying gasps, Bruce Cutler has suddenly decided to quit Phil Spector's defence team. Although the official reasons that have been given include Bruce Cutler disagreeing about Phil Spector's closing argument and Cutler wanting to dedicate more of his time to his new TV show, it's equally likely that Bruce Cutler left Phil Spector's side because he was either burnt up with jealousy over Phil Spector's gloriously Sapphic haircut or because he wanted to get as far away from Phil Spector as humanly possible when Phil invariably gets found guilty of murdering Lana Clarkson so people will still want him to be their lawyer. One or the other. Possibly.
There were a couple of reasons why the Phil Spector murder trial was so highly anticipated before it started – 1) hey, who doesn't like murder? and 2) Bruce Cutler. Phil Spector hired Bruce Cutler because of his reputation as the earthquake-loud lawyer whose pain-inducingly aggressive cross-examining tendencies had previously got mobster John Gotti acquitted. And if he could do that for a notorious organised crime boss, imagine what he could do for a little old man in a lesbian wig who might have shot a woman who was depressed enough to shoot herself anyway.
But although they worked together for four years before the Phil Spector murder trial went to court, cracks immediately appeared between Bruce and Spector. Following Bruce Cutler's opening statement, Cutler was only allowed to cross examine one witness, and that ended with the judge constantly nagging him about his absurdly overwrought manner. Following that Bruce Cutler got ill, had the Phil Spector murder trial delayed while get got better and then didn't do anything anyway, except sneak off a few weeks in to make his own TV show. And now the inevitable has happened – Bruce Cutler has left Phil Spector's defence, as E! Online reports:
Bruce Cutler, the so-billed lead attorney on Spector's defense team who was frequently MIA from the criminal proceedings, has resigned his post, citing a difference of opinion on the team's closing-argument strategy in the legendary producer's murder trial. In Los Angeles Superior Court Monday, the final day of testimony in the long-gestating trial, Cutler told Judge Larry Paul Fidler: "There's nothing I can do for Mr. Spector. I can no longer effectively represent him." When Fidler asked Spector whether he concurred with Cutler's last-minute stepping down, Spector replied, "That is correct."
However, Bruce Cutler did hint that he might possibly be back in court to give the closing statement for the defence next week, and that might not be such a bad idea. Since the Phil Spector murder trial has become so hopelessly one-sided that the defence has now been forced to discuss the intricacies of the French revolution in court, maybe only Bruce Cutler can step in and save things for Phil Spector. After all, if a giant bald man bellowing about what a tiny wussbag Phil Spector is can't make people think Phil Spector is innocent, then what can?

Very lame article on Bruce Cutler. Why do you think Phil Spector, a legend, had to shoot a 6′ prostitute who he told me was acting bizarrely in his foyer, dancing around, singing “Da Doo Run Run,” and then shot herself? Should we all join forces in helping Donna Clarkson and the District Attorney help persecute an innocent man and then help her steal his assets? I think not – even if you’re crowd is entertained and delusional.

What I wanted to say follows: Be it known that I, Phillip Spector had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the death of Lana Clarkson. And irrefutable science and five of the greatest, most famous forensic scientists all swore under oath that Ms. Clarkson died of a self inflicted gun shot wound, a suicide. They swore by irrefutable science. And while juries and judges lie and make mistakes, science and DNA do not. When their scientific findings and words were ignored is a mystery to me, and hopefully will not be ignored by the appellate court. And I shall return.
But let it also be known that there IS a murderer in the court room and it is NOT Phil Spector, it is Alan Jackson. During the trial he murdered the truth, ,he murdered the constitution, he murdered the law, and he murdered my reputation, and he should not go unpunished for his dastardly deeds. He used his five little “groupies” women, one of whom recently overdosed and died from drugs, and could not be here to testify to slander and lie about me, and victimize me so that he could get his conviction without any scientific proof whatsoever. That’s because he had none. He lied and cheated and double crossed that before along with his cohort Truc Doe whenever they got to it, yes my friends, HE is the real murderer. But, what goes around comes around. And the appellate court will see through his chicanery and smoke and mirrors, and false law and overturn my conviction, and then I will be back stronger than ever, a free man as I should be. Until then, POWER TO THE PEOPLE!

Does anyone know of a source that can resell copies of the trial on tape or dvd? What about the Phil Spector statement ( ? ) that was on insude edition?

Why don’t you visit Bill Pavelic’s site. You can read why he believes LAPD’s Robbery Homicide Unit set up him, Dr. Lee and Dr. Baden. You can also google Dr. Henry Lee’s statement to the LA Times about the non-existent evidence that he and others were accused of stealing. What about the 911 call? The driver, who has apparently perjured himself four times in Immigration documents and allegedly changed his story 8 times, told 911 that HE (the driver) thought Phillip shot Clarkson. The man was evidently outside having a siesta and he clearly doesn’t speak and/or understand English all that well. Also, visit Paul Huebl’s Blog. He believes the set up of Phil Spector began when Alhambra PD tasered Mr. Spector twice and realized they had civil liability.

Phil Spector Was Railroaded In A Legal Outrage
Los Angeles, CA—Judge Larry Paul Fiddler seemed like such a personable fellow when I met him in San Francisco at a function hosted by the Investigative Reporters and Editors some six years ago. First impressions are sometimes misleading.
Fidler had the duty to give murder suspects a fair trial under our sacred system of justice. When legendary record producer Phil Spector’s murder case came before Judge Fidler, fairness was replaced by judicial tyranny.
Fidler consistently ruled for nearly every request by prosecutors while denying nearly everything for Spector’s defense. Fidler was more biased than any judge I’ve seen in some 40 years.
Fidler was out to prove that a celebrity could get convicted after a stunning series of acquittals of other accused Hollywood notables.
Fidler was asked repeatedly to recuse himself and when he refused the defense went as far as the Court of Appeals and lost the argument.
The real abuse of judicial discretion was surrounding the newly revised California’s evidence code 1101B that could allow the introduction of so-called prior bad acts committed by the defendant.
Fidler allowed a string of women jilted by Spector to come into court and accuse Spector of whatever they wanted. Allegations surfaced that were never reported to police and there was never a prosecution or trial to sort out fact from fiction. The tales were decades old and the women telling them were felons, freeloaders and even sold their stories to the tabloids.
As for the evidence or rather a lack of it, the jury was allowed to be tainted by a very public hate campaign often centering on the aging Spector or his appearance.
The case was far more about salacious gossip than facts. The pretty dead woman, Lana Clarkson was painted as saintly or angelic. The truth was that she was a troubled alcohol and drug addicted woman who stole from her friends and lived under a cloud of poverty and depression.
The prosecutors took steps to cover up Clarkson’s real problems by asking the Los Angeles County Medical Examiners to not conduct the normal psychological autopsy done in such cases. This obstruction of justice was criminal to say the least.
The prosecution made a, Motion to Fix and Judge Filer sustained that motion. The jury was swayed by the avalanche of what should have been inadmissible garbage rather than evidence. The result was a miscarriage of justice.
Lana Clarkson died at her own hands while heavily intoxicated.
Now Phil Spector can watch the Clarkson family loot his estate as he rots in a prison cell for a year or few until his case is reviewed by a higher court.

Phil Spector’s Murder Trial Was An Absolute Sham
Los Angeles, CA—I wrote extensively about legendary record producer, Phil Spector’s first murder trial that ended in a mistrial when jurors could not reach a unanimous verdict. . I was not able to do much with the retrial because of other commitments, but it was even worse that the first trial.
Both trials were as unfair, and as outrageous as I’ve ever seen in my 40 years of experience inside the criminal justice system. During the trials I compared L.A. Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler to Roland Freisler, the President of The People’s Court of Germany’s Third Reich. I don’t think that was an exaggeration because of nearly every ruling made by Fidler.
It was obvious to me that Judge Fidler had an agenda to convict Spector at any cost after numerous embarrassing high profile acquittals of other celebrity defendants. Fidler was drunk with power as he satisfied the harpy-pundits of that failed TV network, Court TV. It just so happened that I met Judge Fidler when he was invited to San Francisco to attend an Investigative Reporter’s and Editor’s conference in San Francisco with that very pretty, former Court TV correspondent, Beth Karas.
Spector’s trial was not about evidence but was an exercise of pure hatred. The trial manifested hatred for Spector’s wealth, flamboyant hair, manner of dress and lifestyle.
Spector had a lifetime’s worth of gold-digging women satisfying his libido and then angered when Spector did not give them the wealth and fame they sought. The very worst of this group were allowed to testify against Spector about decades old affairs.
Spector’s real crime was his sometimes horrible taste and judgment in the women he allowed in his bed. In that mix were thieves, extortionists and drug addicts. Some would return to haunt Spector for a slim chance at fame and of course the cash they could get from the tabloids for their tall tales.
The dead woman, Lana Clarkson fit Spector’s bedmates well. Clarkson was a failed and now too old actress with habit for ingesting Vicodin nearly a dozen times a day. The poor woman was an alcoholic suffering from depression and was nearly destitute. It was clear that Clarkson was under the influence of both drugs and alcohol when she died.
None the less Clarkson was a sympathetic figure that Hollywood used and spit out. Clarkson was beautiful and there was evidence she tried very hard to gain fame and fortune that sadly never materialized. Clarkson was really just another tragic story from The Boulevard of Broken Dreams.
Clarkson did not go home with Phil Spector who she just met for anything more than an act of commerce. Spector had money and Clarkson needed some.
A violent death occurred but the evidence of murder just was not there. On the contrary there was a lot of evidence suggesting suicide or a self-inflicted accidental shooting by a drunken woman.
We don’t have a video, instant replay of this tragedy. We and the jury had to guess how Clarkson died. It’s a human trait to want to assign blame for a needless death. The blame went to Phil Spector.
In Judge Fidler’s court Clarkson’s problems were sanitized while any and everyone who wanted was encouraged by the jurist to throw mud on Spector.
Phil Spector was railroaded to a prison cell for more years than the 70 year-old has left on earth. Spector very well may never live long enough to win his appeal. This is wrong.
With The People’s Court of Germany, the public did not see much of anything wrong with Judge Freisler’s show trials either. “Justice” was always administered there, swift and sure. What happened in this Los Angeles courtroom can happen to you or someone you love.

There needs to be some balance out there and to date I have only seen negativity. Let’s turn some of that around.
There does indeed need to be some balance out there. There also is clearly an organized campaign of cyber-terrorism and malicious slander that has rendered Phil Spector unrecognizable. Works for the prosecution, Clarkson family who turned their daughter’s suicide into a homicide (horrifyingly enough), law enforcement, and Michelle Blaine who has written a book. Hopefully, it’s not as vulgar and vile as her Blog about Phillip.
