It was meant to be her big comeback – after an extended leave of absence to have a baby and dress, like, really badly, Britney Spears was to return to the public eye with a hilarious role on Will & Grace.
Britney certainly has managed to get back in the public eye, but probably for the wrong reasons. Her role on Will & Grace was to be a lunatic Christian with a TV cookery show called Cruci-Fixin’s. Only, for some unknown reasons, Christian groups in America are furious with Britney Spears and Will & Grace. Something about mocking the crucifixion of Christ so near Easter…
Will & Grace is famous for it’s celebrity guests. Sharon
Osbourne, Minnie Driver, Jennifer Lopez and Madonna have all taken
turns to flap their hands about on the sitcom and wildly trying to make up
for the lack of any humour whatsoever in the script. And Britney Spears
(CDs) was all set to be the latest Will & Grace guest-star.
NBC, in its excitement to announce the latest big-name cast member
to join Will & Grace, immediately blurted out exactly what Britney
would be doing on the show – mainly taking the piss out of Christians.
Weird, we thought, because Britney is supposed to be a Christian, isn’t
she? Or she’s into Kabbalah. Or she’s a Hindu. Or something. Look, we’ve lost count, OK?
But it doesn’t matter what religion Britney happens to be into this week – the
American Family Association, a Mississippi-based Christian group, had
already gone on the offensive. It wanted Britney’s episode of Will &
Grace to never see the light of day because it "mocks
the crucifixion of Christ." Not only that, but the episode was due to
be broadcast on April 13 – the day before Good Friday. This, according
to the American Family Association, "further denigrates Christianity."
NBC
has retaliated by saying that the original press release should have
never gone out in the first place, and the script for that episode hasn’t even been
written yet, and there was never going to be a reference to
Cruci-Fixin’s, and that Britney wasn’t even going to be a Christian
anyway so there.
Now that her episode of Will & Grace has been all but killed, it looks like Britney Spears will have to find a new way of making her big comeback. Maybe by playing a hilarious Islamic fundamentalist on an episode of Malcolm In The Middle or something.

Cruci-fixin’s! Now thats funny, from a show that I still for some reason can not figure out why these people are friends in the first place.

I love Will & Grace, But I love Jesus more and madona coming out on the cross is soo disrespectful to Jesus he died on the cross for out sins and no one should take that lightly I think she needs to watch the passion of christ, if she was a good person she would never do such a thing

There are always jokes made about Muslims and Islam. It’s about time that someone cracks a funny about Christians. You laugh at others but refuse to be laughed a
at. How ridiculous, have some humour people.
