It's day two of our browse through the British Soap Awards Villain Of The Year betting odds, and we've uncovering a hotbed of reprehensible behaviour from all of the soap operas. Except Doctors, naturally.
Again, Emily Bishop from Coronation Street doesn't make it onto today's list of villains, even though we saw her tying up a bag full of kittens and throwing it into a river the other day. But such is life – remember that betting on the British Soap Awards Villain Of The Year is a fantastically easy way to make a fun little bit of money, and you even get free stuff when you do it.
So here are the British Soap Awards Villain Of The Year betting odds for Nick Brimble, Matt Healy and Jo-Anne Stockham, with help from PaddyPower…
Nick Brimble – Nick Brimble plays Terence Turner in Emmerdale. Now, we're not sure why Nick Brimble is in the running for Villain Of The Year. Brimble is a lovely pastoral surname, and not villainous at all. If his name was Nick Quarg The Unstoppable, maybe he'd have got a bit further in this acting lark. As Terence Turner, Brimble plays a man who might have once been into child abuse, and constantly acts in a suitably loopy way. He's blackmailing a doctor, from what we've gathered, and he's going to die from getting a fire extinguisher bonked on his head Home Alone-stylee. The big bloody villain. Current British Soap Awards Villain Of The Year betting odds – 40/1
Matt Healy – Matt Healy plays Matthew King in Emmerdale. Matthew King is one of life's lizards, or so we're told. Someone died and Matthew hid the body and then conned the widow out of her house. Someone else died and he shagged the dead man's daughter at the funeral. But, come on, who hasn't done that these days? We're actually a little underwhelmed by how much of a rubbish villain Matthew King is. What's that? He slept with the Patsy Kensit character? Ooh, the big bastard. Current British Soap Awards Villain Of The Year betting odds – 33/1
Jo-Anne Stockham – Jo-Anne Stockham plays The Mantis in Doctors. Jesus Christ, this is the rubbishest Villain Of The Year profile we've ever had to write. Doctors is a vaguely episodic soap about some doctors, and all doctors – by law – have to be as good as gold. Except for Dr Harold Shipman, of course. And Dr Frankenstein. And some of the doctors we've come across in West London from time to time. So, anyway, strapped for a nomination of Villain Of The Year, Doctors decided to put The Mantis up for the prize. She's a woman in a wig that might have killed some people. She's not a regular Doctors character, and she hasn't even got a proper fucking name. Don't let her win. Current British Soap Awards Villain Of The Year betting odds – 33/1
