However, lots of people are looking forwards to it, so we’ll perform a public service, and list the runners and riders, helped with odds from Betfair.com, starting today with the nominees for Best Actress.

Suranne Jones - played that screaming woman from Coronation Street. Current Odds - 3/10

Michelle Ryan - one of the Slater sisters from Eastenders, had a nervous breakdown a few years ago. Current Odds - evens

Tina O’Brien - Coronation Street’s whiney teenage single Mum. Current Odds - 2/1

Emma Atkins - An Emmerdale Dingle. Mental, kisses girls. Current Odds - 3/1

Sally Lindsay - The blonde barmaid from Coronation Street. Also sang that awful Grandma We Love You song. Current Odds - 4/1

Jesse Wallace - Kat Slater from Eastenders. Possibly even more deranged in real life. Current Odds - 5/1

Kacey Ainsworth - The other Slater from Eastenders. The one that had that barmy Scottish husband. Current Odds - 7/2

They’re the frontrunners. There are loads more nominees that are all about 31/1, including a bunch of people that you wouldn’t recognise if they spat a greenie in your ear.

No nomination for Pat Butcher this year. This upsets hecklerspray, because she the closest thing a soap has to a giant breakdancing robot ninja.
