The British Soap Awards are going to take place in May and, to counter the phenomenal amount of drunken backslapping that will no doubt take place, we’re giving you all the British Soap Awards betting odds.

This week, we’ve been giving you the rundown of the British Soap Awards Sexiest Female contenders. Because even though most British soaps are about ugly people doing depressing things, some characters have to be at least halfway good-looking, right?

Roxanne McKee - Roxanne McKee plays Louise Summers in Hollyoaks. Is
Hollyoaks even a soap? We’re only asking because we were under the impression that soaps
didn’t start every episode with a hilarious montage set to music by the
Kaiser Chiefs. Whatever, Roxanne McKee is said to be the sexiest member
of the Hollyoaks cast, even though she looks identical to every single
girl who has ever been to an All Bar One ever. Will she be crowned
sexiest female? Maybe - she’s the Hollyoaks front-runner, and Hollyoaks
has pulled off a few British Soap Awards surprises in the past. Current

Samia Smith - Samia Smith plays Maria Sutherland in Coronation
Street. We’re convinced that if Samia Smith wasn’t so pretty, she’d
have been sacked from Coronation Street years ago. Her character
doesn’t actually do anything, and even the storylines she does get are
about as interesting as gravel. But without Samia Smith, the combined
attractiveness of the Coronation Street cast would be roughly equal to
the inside of a butcher’s dustbin - and that has to count for something. We’re not confident that Samia will
scoop the sexiest female prize, because she’s been around for years,

Tina O’Brien - Tina O’Brien plays Sarah Platt in Coronation Street.
Over the last 18 months or so, something very strange has happened in
the mind of Tina O’Brien: she seems to have become convinced that she’s

lipgloss has got shinier and her pouting to acting ratio has gone all
out of whack. Tina O’Brien also seems to revel in larking around on the
front of the lad mags - and young women looking all vague and shiny and
airbrushed within an inch of their lives are sexy, right? Right?
