It's our final day of looking at the British Soap Awards Best Actress betting odds, and that means today's actresses are the creme de la creme of soap acting talent.

Only a cynic would suggest that the best actress award is given to whichever wailing harpy has managed to combine the most amount of over-the-top onscreen screaming with the most tiresome off-screen controversy. But we're cynics, and this is our website, so shut up.

Jessie Wallace – Jessie Wallace plays Kat Slater in Eastenders. We're not sure that Jessie Wallace deserves to win the Best Actress award, on the basis that she seems to be exactly the same as Kat Slater, and that's not really acting, is it? However, we're a little sad that Kat Slater has left Eastenders, because it means there's nobody around to smear make-up all over their faces like disturbing clowns, totter down the Vic to wiggle their cleavage and shriek at men before bursting into tears while staring in a toilet mirror. Kate Ford – Kate Ford plays Tracy Barlow in Coronation Street. Everybody loves a bitch, and there's no bigger bitch than Tracy Barlow. She sleeps with men! She's quite rude to the elderly! She looks a bit like a shark! And that's about it, really. According to these betting odds, she does all of those things well enough to be a serious contender in the British Soap Awards Best Actress category. But we're not so sure – Kate Ford has had the huge, ultradramatic storylines needed to get Best Actress votes. Current British Soap Awards Best Actress betting odds – 6/1

Lacey Turner – Lacey Turner plays Stacey Slater in Eastenders. It's rare that a soap actress is more or less given their own week of episodes outside of the usual location, but that's what happened with Lacey Turner when she had to go and look after her mentally ill Mum. It was the perfect vehicle for Lacey Turner to show that there's more to her than being a bit gobby to all the Eastenders men. It's also rare that a soap actress is caught on CCTV having it off in a hotel corridor, but that's probably less relevant. Current British Soap Awards Best Actress betting odds – 1/3
