British Girls Want To Look Like Jennifer, Not Angelina
Ha! Take that Angelina! You may have stolen her husband, but Jennifer Aniston can live safe in the knowledge that the spotty, awkward, half-witted women of Britain would rather look like her than you.
We’re confused. Is this supposed to be some kind of consolation?
Channel Five – the British broadcaster that loves to fill it’s
schedules with blockbuster movies like The Karate Kid III and Columbo:
Ransom For A Dead Man – conducted a survey among 16-34 year-olds for a
new show called Don’t Get Me Started! about which celebrity they want
to look like.
The fact that the youth of today want to look like famous people at
all gets the host of Don’t Get Me Started all in a fluster. Sam Delane
says:
"British kids used to strive to be different, outrageous and a
little bit offensive. Now they aspire to emulate bland American actors whose defining
stylistic features are shiny hair and nice, white teeth. The eccentricity and imagination that once made Britain the global
capital of youth culture has been replaced by mindless celebrity
obsession."
And
the mindless celebrity that everyone is obsessed with is apparently
Jennifer Aniston (DVDs). According to the survey, a huge 28% of British women
want to look like her, compared to, um, 0% for Jennifer’s love-rival
Angelina Jolie (DVDs). Wait a minute – not a single person wanted to look like
Angelina? There’s something fishy going on here.
We expect that the survey was in fact just a multiple choice
questionnaire, and Angelina wasn’t one of the multiple choices.
Surely that’s it – we find it hard to believe that 4% of women want to
look like Jools Oliver and 0% want to look like Angelina Jolie.
Here are the full results of the survey:
1. Jennifer Aniston (28%)
2. Sienna Miller (11%)
3. Keira Knightley (11%)
4. Victoria Beckham (8%)
5. Charlotte Church (5%)
6. Jools Oliver (4%)
7. Kate Moss (3%)
8. Abi Titmuss (2%)
And for the boys:
1. Brad Pitt (25%)
2. Jude Law (15%)
3. David Beckham (14%)
4. Robbie Williams (9%)
5. Rio Ferdinand (4%)
6. Calum Best (3%)
7. Gavin Henson (2%)
8. Pete Doherty (1%)
