Breaking News: Kurt Cobain Died! Then Shot Himself
Dave Grohl, currently lead singer of the Foo Fighters, relives those heady Nirvana days just before Kurt Cobain blew himself into breadcrumbs…
…OK, so it’s not technically breaking news, but the short of it is that Dave Grohl heard that Kurt Cobain died a few days before he shot himself.
"They called and said he’d (Kurt) passed out in Rome, and I fucking freaked out. I just lost my mind and started wailing." Grohl informed Rolling Stone.
It was all a false alarm though; apparently Kurt was fine after all. Bet Dave felt silly.
"Twenty minutes later someone called me and said, ‘Actually, no,
he’s not dead, he’s awake.’ How weird. That could have been the
happiest moment of my life."
So what did Dave do to cheer Kurt up? One word – mini-bikes!
"When he came home, I talked to him on the phone. We tried to avoid the subject – we were talking about buying mini-bikes or something, and I told him, ‘Look man, I was really scared.’"
So, really, why did Generation X’s poster boy decide to reject a rich life of heroin and mini-moto?
The wonderful Alan Partridge once noted that if Nirvana (CDs) were actually any good, somebody should have told Kurt.
Certainly no blame should be laid at Dave Grohl’s feet, he did all he could. Granted, Kurt had just trotted off to Italy and swallowed a lethal cocktail of champagne and painkillers, but when questioned he had a more than valid excuse.
"I’m really sorry." remarked Kurt when he returned home to Seattle "It was just an accident."
What could Dave – or any of the Nirvana posse for that matter – have read into that statement? Nothing. Accidents happens all the time.
It was probably an accident when Kurt shot a giant hole in his chin a few days later. Maybe he just meant to wound himself? A Hamburger Hill style cry for help.
"I really cared about him," concluded Grohl "but it wasn’t enough."
If a friend comes to you after taking an overdose, don’t just talk about mini-bikes, you go out and buy them one.
If Kurt Cobain had fully embraced the possibilities of owning a motorbike smaller than a space hopper he might still be alive and singing today.
We know Dave would have loved that especially.

COBAIN WAS INJECTED WITH 3 TIMES A LETHAL DOSE OF HEROIN!!
Cobain’s heroin, (morphine), blood level was 1.52 mgs per liter. This would require a minimum injection of 225 mgs of heroin, three times a lethal dose, even for a hardcore heroin addict! The drug Diazepam, was also found in Cobain’s blood system.
COBAIN WAS IN FEAR OF HIS LIFE
The shotgun found at the scene was purchased BEFORE Cobain left for rehab in Los Angeles, NOT AFTER he fled the rehab as reported by misinformed media sources.
The shotgun was fully loaded with three shells. It was purchased and loaded for protection, not suicide.
The police claim there were no legible fingerprints on this shotgun!
The truth is, the shotgun wasn’t even checked for fingerprints until May 6th, nearly one month after Cobain’s body was found.
THERE WAS NO “SUICIDE” NOTE!!
The note found at the scene by the police was immediately labeled as a “suicide note.” The police report states it was “apparently written by Cobain to his wife and daughter, explaining why he had killed himself.”
But this note was not addressed to Kurt’s wife and daughter and it says nothing about “killing himself!” This note was clearly written to Cobain’s fans telling them he was quitting the music business. There was only a short footnote to Courtney and Frances and the handwriting contained in those lines has been questioned by several handwriting experts.
