Bin Laden’s Niece Gets Own TV Show
When hecklerspray heard that Wafah Dafour - daughter of Osama Bin Laden’s half-brother - was striving to launch a pop singing career, two questions sprung immediately to mind.
Number one - is it morally reprehensible to allow a close relative of a mass-murdering mastermind to hoist herself upon the public consciousness in such a frivolous and possibly downright insulting manner?
Number two - would it be any worse than anything ‘the’ Arctic Monkeys have ever done?
Ahem. But seriously.
This is something of a contentious story…
Quite understandably - what with the fairly recent image of three thousand
people being annihilated by a maniac-filled jetliner ingrained on the
collective human psyche like a branding iron - a couple of people feel that
launching Wafah Dafour - niece of Osama Bin Laden (Books) - on a teenybop trajectory might be just a little bit
insensitive.
These people are also a mite upset that Dafour - whose uncle helped to send
countless innocent people plummeting, burning and screaming, to the most
horrific death imaginable - has just signed a lucrative deal for a
fly-on-the-wall docusoap following her first steps into the musical arena.
A spokeswoman for The September 11th Family Association said:
"This is an absolute
disgrace. We urge every TV network and channel planning to run this series to
think again. The very idea that the family of a man with so much blood on his
hands should profit from some sort of instant celebrity is an outrage."
The show’s producer happens to disagree, though:
"Wafah may be related
to Osama - but she isn’t him. She’s a beautiful young woman who is gifted and
trying to find her own way in life. She has a lot of allure, sex appeal and
personality - and she can sing. She has sisters and she fights with her mom.
It’ll be an interesting show."
The show is presently being auctioned to TV networks across the United States. Wafah Dafour herself has yet to comment on
the controversy.
hecklerspray, meanwhile, remains - for
once - speechless. Let’s face it … if we regularly give warbling no-marks
like Mariah Carey a hard time, how do you the think the introduction of
a terrorist’s daughter to the ‘pop scene’ is going to resonate around the
office?
Answer? Like a fart in a fucking spacesuit.

And how is SHE responsible for her uncle’s actions? Give the kid a break. It’s not her fault she was born into that family. She’s doing something her uncle would probably have her stoned to death for doing. Look at the way she’s dressed. Definately not the Uber-Islamic way!
