All Rita Cosby wanted to to was make loads of money by opportunistically slinging out a book claiming that Larry Birkhead and Howard K Stern - who at one point both claimed to be the father of Anna Nicole Smith's baby daughter Dannielynn - were secret gay lovers who used to suck each other off all the time, and now Rita Cosby's scheduled interview on the Today show has been cancelled because Howard Stern's lawyers threatened to sue the show for telling lies if it went ahead. By now you're probably as resigned as us to hearing brand new, increasingly outlandish rumours about the death of Anna Nicole Smith until the day you die. But, let's be fair, any new rumours are going to have to involve moon-men and unicorns to be any more outlandish than the one being punted around by Rita Cosby in her new book Blonde Ambition: The Untold Story Behind Anna Nicole Smith's Death.

We know - we weren't sure there was an untold story behind Anna Nicole Smith's death, either, because every single detail of her death was documented in almost forensic detail. We know where Anna Nicole Smith was buried, we know what killed Anna Nicole Smith, we know who the father of Anna Nicole Smith's baby is, we know what a sobbing git Anna Nicole Smith's judge is and we even know the drug of choice of other Anna Nicole Smith judges. But there apparently is an untold story behind Anna Nicole Smith's death, and it involves would-be Anna Nicole Smith babydaddy Howard K Stern and actual Anna Nicole Smith babydaddy Larry Birkhead popping their genitals into each other's mouths quite a lot.

That's what journalist Rita Cosby alleges anyway. As we reported yesterday, Cosby's new book claims that Larry Birkhead and Howard K Stern were gay lovers who secretly made a deal that Stern would be Anna Nicole's executor so long as Larry Birkhead got to keep her daughter. It's been reported that the book also claims that Anna Nicole Smith knew of the persuasion of Birkhead and Stern, but still chose Larry Birkhead to father her child because he was blonde-haired and blue-eyed and that Anna Nicole Smith often spread out on her bed watching tapes of Larry Birkhead and Howard K Stern performing oral sex on each other.

Rita Cosby was due to be a guest on the Today show where she'd discuss the claims made in her Anna Nicole Smith book, but TMZ is now reporting that NBC has now got jumpy about getting sued and has pulled the interview:

The cancellation comes after "Today" received a bristling, threatening letter from attorney Lin Wood, Howard's lawyer. Wood, who represented John and Patsy Ramsey, made it clear he would sue the "Today" show for any false facts that spewed out of Rita's mouth. Birkhead has also vowed to sue Cosby and others who he claims are in on a plot to "smear" him. As fas as we know Cosby's assertion of a relationship is rooted in the testimony of Jackie Hatten, a known wacko whose brother served prison time for stalking Anna Nicole.

However, the cancellation of a high-profile interview like this has only fanned the flames of publicity for Rita Cosby's book - something that neither Larry Birkhead or Howard K Stern must want. But, despite all this flap, there's one voice that's been suspiciously quiet during all of these rumours about Larry Birkhead and Howard K Stern being gay lovers - and that's the voice of Prince Frederic von Anhalt, the elderly impotent German who claimed to have fathered Anna Nicole Smith's baby even though he probably never even met her. When we hear any Anna Nicole Smith news, we can't relax until Frederic has chimed in with his own crackpot take on the issue, so here's hoping he comes forward to claim he used to suck the lot of them off soon.
