Blueye_5On Friday, Vanessa left the Big Brother house crying like a stupid wimp. To be fair, she did leave under particularly weird circumstances – only finding out that she was even up for eviction at the very last moment, and then being kicked out by the rest of the housemates.

But last week’s weirdness had a strange effect on the popularity of the Big Brother housemates – now we’ve seen how they react under pressure, we’re beginning to change our minds about who will win.

So at this stage in the series, who’s the favourite to win BB6? Here are the latest special betting odds from hecklerspray and Betfair.com on the Big Brother winner.

Kemal – When he entered the house, Kemal was instant favourite to win Big Brother.
But his remarkably obvious playing up to the camera, coupled with last
week’s constant spaz-outs and bitching sessions, have put the British
public off somewhat. If he stays – great, we’ll see a full-scale
meltdown. But his chances of winning have been severely diminished. Current odds – 31/2

Craig – Now Vanessa‘s out, Craig has stepped nicely
into her role. As soon as he’s placed up for nomination, he’ll be
evicted. He flits between being unbearably smug and unbearably
self-pitying. And he’s got enormous man-boobs. He may have provided the comedy moment of the series when Anthony squirted him in the face with suntan lotion, but he won’t win the series. Current odds – 12/1

Eugene and Orlaith – Still being lumped together in the ‘anyone else’
category, Eugene and Orlaith share the same odds, even though in
reality Eugene is streaking ahead of Orlaith in the popularity stakes.
Eugene is fast becoming the voice of reason in the house – even if that
voice is monotone and self-consciously zany, while Orlaith’s face when
she got booed on Friday was a piece of television gold. Current odds – 21/2

Makosi – Previously, Makosi was riding on a smug wave of
popularity having never faced eviction, but now the tables have turned.
Now everyone knows that she’s the second-least popular housemate, will
we start seeing a few tactical nominations thrown her way? That’ll
teach her for boffing a Geordie in a swimming pool. Current odds – 10/1

Derek – Derek has recently been the favourite to win Big Brother,
his personality that veers between ‘urbane’ and ‘shrieking camp old
lady’ had been winning over the public. But lately he’s becoming more
and more aloof and, significantly, getting less screen time. This has seen his odds to win drop somewhat. Current odds – 23/3

Science – Things have been going pretty well for Science -
our personal favourite to win since the series started – lately. Inside
the house, he’s finally gained a group of friends and the swimming
competition showed the public a vulnerable side to his personality.
When his name was read out on Friday, he got the biggest cheer of the
night. And now Charlie Brooker from The Guardian wants him to win, too. However, never underestimate Science’s ability to screw things up for himself. Current odds – 23/7

Anthony – When he was shackled together with the awful couple of Saskia and Maxwell,
Anthony looked like a long shot to win. But now they’ve been booted
out, Anthony is beginning to flourish. He’s taking the same role as Craig from BB1,
the good-natured dimwit. The way he protects his friend Craig is
admirable, and – while he’s sober – he’s a lovely young man. Still
incredibly stupid, though. Current odds – 15/8

So, as it stands now Anthony has the best chance of winning.
Unless he gets drunks and starts shagging again, that is. Tomorrow
we’ll give you a run down on who’s likely to be nominated, but for now,
head over to Betfair.com and have a bet on the winner. Remember that this market is so changeable that you really have a chance with anyone – plus the odds are much better.
