Emily – the right-wing posho drama student Big Brother housemate who had been facing eviction with mad-eyed lunatic Shabnam tomorrow night – has been kicked out of Big Brother for dropping the N-bomb on fellow housemate Charley, so tomorrow's eviction is off.
According to a Big Brother transcript, at 8:30 last night Emily was dancing with Charley when she asked "Are you pushing it out, you nigger?" Although Emily did her best to immediately laugh off the comments, Big Brother called her into the Diary Room at 3:30am and booted her out of the Big Brother house, with the other housemates only being informed at 9:30 this morning. Of course, we can take several things from Emily's surprise Big Brother eviction: 1) Big Brother is going to operate a zero-tolerance policy on racist remarks in the house, 2) The Big Brother eviction scheduled for tomorrow night has been cancelled, although nobody is sure what it'll be replaced with yet and 3) This means another bloody week with Shabnam, doesn't it. Bugger.
After the Celebrity Big Brother racism row earlier in the year, Big Brother chiefs are determined to do all they can to stop entire subcontinents running onto the streets burning little effigies of them again. And, weirdly enough, that means not standing for it when a rich girl with an unusually large opinion of herself calls a black girl a "nigger" as Emily discovered last night. According to Digital Spy:
Angela Jain, who heads Channel 4's Big Brother commissioning team, said: "In the wake of Celebrity Big Brother we must consider the potential offence to viewers regardless of Emily's intentions and her housemates' response. The word 'nigger' is clearly racially offensive and there is no justification for its use. We have removed Emily from the house to once again make it clear to all housemates and the viewers at home that such behaviour won't be tolerated."
So who knows where Big Brother will go from here. In the long-term the Big Brother betting odds for the show to be axed by the end of this season's run have been dramatically slashed from 9/2 to 1/8, but in the short-term the Big Brother eviction that was scheduled for tomorrow night has been suspended. The logical thing for Big Brother to do would be to make a swift editorial decision to minimise any existing friction between the Big Brother housemates and try to create an atmosphere of fun in the house. Maybe the production team could replace Emily with a comedian who'd be able to lightened the mood.
Although, having said that, Michael Richards probably shouldn't wait for a call.

it was obviously said in a joking way if they where dancing together at the time, if it was said during a argument then fair enough but other wise it just a joke, people say it in songs lyrics all the time big brother has just become stupidly sensitive so it can protect is own image

I think she should be applauded for not worrying about what she sais. Knobody should have to worry about saying the wrong thing. I applaud her completely. Big brother must have a black guy running the show. To the moderators on here you really need to stop censoring people. This isnt Nazi Germany??
